We are Disney Vacation Club members (Time share ) and book all our vacations through "member services". We had requested the 4 Day Cruise on July 24 and received two CAT 4 rooms ( I travel with my brother there are 5 people in his party). We get the confirmation numbers, make reservations for flights and for Old Key West Resort, so we thought we were all set!!. WRONG!!

The next day member services calls and said Disney Cruise line booked us for July 31, not July 24, and all the rooms are booked. well, after many phone calls they were able to get us rooms on the 24th they gave me a cat 6 (?) I'm on deck 7, which I guess is ok, but my poor brother had to take 2 rooms (he was lucky enough to get a port hole rooms) on deck 5, located way in the front of the ship. He was so looking forward to getting a veranda!!, now he has 2 rooms instead of 1!

My question is this.....Did anyone ever get upgraded the day of the cruise? , or do you know of a waiting list he can get on?

Call your reservation agent back and ask to be wait listed with DCL for the cabins you want. You may not hear anythign until the final payment due date but wait lists have proven successful for others.

From my experience......DVC members are kinda like steerage when you book with points through MS......

Last Sept we sailed on a pretty full boat....I found out a month before the trip that my nephew would be going with us. (He's 1) We had previously been assigned a cat 11 cabin rated for 3.

DVC wouldn't let us add him even though we only needed a crib for him. After multiple phone calls they refused to even put us on a waiting list for one of the cat 11 cabins rated for 4 and told us we could make no requests.

(My mother taught me never to take no for an answer.)

So in a last ditch effort, I e-mailed DCL directly...told them what I had went through with MS and asked if the room assignment "pixies" (OK, there is another name for them but it escapes me right now) could look into this matter.

Well don't you know....about two days later I got an e-mail from DCL (NOTE: not MS) that they were taking care of this for me and that we had been re-assigned.

I'm sorry about the difficulties you are having. Maybe if you explain your story to DCL directly like I did you may have better luck.

Thank you so much, I'll give it try!!
