I don't remember where I heard this from, but has anyone else heard that this is in the works? Please tell me yes and in the near future :goodvibes

THanks..

OMG, that would be too dangerous. We'll be able to do 2-3 cruises a year just like our Florida and surrounding area friends do. That would be soooo WONDERful and MAGICal. hahaha Where did you hear this?

I heard it was a complete rumor...i too wish there was a disney cruise out of ny but probably it wont happen............ unless the olympics came to new york and they use the boat as a hotel now that would be interesting....hmmm....

OHHHhhh my that would be great!!! We'd be spending lots of time on the ship!!! I agree.. I don't see it happening but it's a nice thought! :smooth:

Well, with that happy notion in my head, I'm going to go to bed now and dream of boarding the Magic right here in NY harbor. It's good to dream!!

Night all you fellow NYers.

TTFN,
Maria

I know NY is trying hard to get the cruise trade. They are even redoing the Brooklyn Piers For major Cruise Co. They just haven't said which one. I so want it to be DISNEY. You know the business would be there Carnival sells out going to Canada and Norweigen & RCCL sell out going to the Bahamas. It's time those in the south east share with those of us in the northeast :love1:

Oh, I WISH!

Rumor.

Well, you never know, Disney loves to make wishes come true alot of times :)

WHEN, the new ship is built and finished and makes its journey over to the U.S. most cruise lines stop in N.Y. first when the ship first comes over and
then makes its way down to Florida (most of the time).

SO, our opinion is that when the new ship is ready to come over, hopefully they will make a stop in N.Y. do some cruises for everyone (usually they will do some 2 and 3 night cruises - depending on schedule, or they will just do a
show off the ship with dinners and charity events) and then move on down to reposition itself in Port Canaveral. Then we think the Magic will do another repositioning cruise to get herself already to be the new ship for the WEST COAST!!!!!

Lets see what plays out!!!

But neither the Magic nor Wonder did this. It would be nice, but I have serious doubts. :(

When we completed our first cruise in 2001 we got an e-mail survey and it was all about itineraries for a cruise leaving from NY. Bayonne NJ is also redoing their cruise industry. I would love one out of Bayonne. We wouldn't even have to cross the GWB.

We took the same survey after our 2001 cruise. Maybe they targeted those of us in the area?

I would love to see that happen! I walk on the beach most days, and if I'm there at the right time, I can see the cruise ships as they sail past (we're just a few miles south of New York Harbor. I would love to watch a Disney ship sail past! Although I'd rather be on the ship watching my beach go past!

sign us up!!!! I would cruise much much more often if it did :)

Everyone got so excited. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I heard it. It was a while ago--before I began planning a cruise. Maybe the powers that be will see this thread......keep up the support!!

I would book the VERY first day - Iwould love it if it came true - what fun!!!

I don't think Disney is coming to NY ports any more than they made it to the Meadowlands 15 or 20 yrs ago. Just too much money in fees I think. I heard that even the QE2 wasn't going to make it a regular stop. The port fees are really high. I was looking at a Celebrety cruise and found the port fees to be in the 100's :(

such is life? I can hope - but it is a small one....
