I'm listening to Mousetunes podcast Dec 18, and they just said that Disney Cruise Line will start transatlantic trips in 2007. Now wouldn't that be cool? Cruise over and fly back? Of course, I'm sure it will cost a fortune, but a definite E-ticket!

There have been rumours on the DCL forums that The Disney Magic may be doing Mediterranean Cruises in the Summer 2007, that would be absolutely brilliant, and I would love to see the prices for that :)

I for one would definately use our DVC points for this. Keep us informed.

Many thanks for the information.

They are rumors that it will be coming over here in May and heading back in August landing in Florida on the 1st Sep

wouldn't it a lovely way to go over there

but it will take 2 weeks to do the journey , A long time to be on a cruise

Two weeks!!! Yikes, that is a long time. How long does it take the QEII to go across?

Usually a week depending on whether they'll stop in the caribbean/azores
sounds like a good one though if DCL do a med one, I'll be trying to bag that educational.

Actually now I'm wondering if they'll be based out of majorca or barcelona or where else? will have to get on to PSARA to try and find out, please if anyone has any info post it soon.

Only the other day I saw an article in the local press announcing Swansea as the new base for a couple of cruises! :lmao:

Seriously, I did read this, but I somehow don't think it'll be for DCL. Wouldn't that be cool for me, though? The trans Atlantic trip sounds fab but likely to be waaaaay too expensive!

Ooh, if it does come to Swansea, maybe I could get a job on board ... ;)

Hilary you are not going mad, I saw it on BBC wales news that cruises were going to start from swansea, DCL ????? that would be cool. if only....... :cloud9:

Me too Mandy :) :)

Well I told DH we'd give WDW a break next year .... he said nothing about not doing a European Disney Cruise :rotfl2:

Wouldn't it be great if we had a Dis-meet on the Disney Magic in the Med :thumbsup2

Damn my OH being scared of deep water (and thus refusing to go on anything that floats on said water!)

Dis Meet on a DCL European Cruise? Can't think of anything I'd like better!

We need to synchronize watches now to see when they release dates (and prices! Bet it won't be cheap!)

We did the 2 week repo from California to Florida in August and loved every minute of it. In fact if someone had said we could stay aboard for another week, we would have jumped at it.

Two weeks may seem like a long time but on the Magic it was just about perfect and we'd love to do it again. Sadly I fear the cost would be too high for us as there has been so much interest in these cruises that I fear that the prices will start high and climb fast.

On the contrary, the transatlantic cruises are actually very cheap compared to Caribbean/Mediterranean cruises since they don't call at many ports and therefore have little in the way of port taxes.

We have done a couple of one week cruises and for us that's way too short. We do at least one two week cruise every year - sometimes two and even they are only just long enough.

I'd be interested in a Disney cruise ex UK but not if you have to fly to it.

.

hopefully this will be so

this is great news...
on our cruises, it was what we put down on the questionaires (where we would like to see DCL cruises)....

you can definitely count me in...
