Are you sure you don't mean the Travel Channel? I'm on Central time zone, but all that's on Discovery is a special on the Golden Gate Bridge (which corresponds with their web site.) I don't know what this is on the Travel channel, but it looks like a special on Ellis Island.
No definitely the Discovery Channel. They went thru the first six wonders of America and the next segment is Disney Cruise Line. Right now they are doing the Boeing 777.
It started off with the Belagio in LV
Then a huge earth mover truck
Then Golden Gate Bridge
Then Rockefeller Bldg in NYC
Boeing 777 Disney Cruise Line
We used a mix of cameras. I bought a Samsung DigiMax 210SE 2.1MP digital right before the trip since it was a steal from K-mart's going out of biz sale. It only takes so-so pictures actually, but I wash everything through Photoshop before posting anyway and it helps sharpen things up enough to make things look pretty good.
We also used my wife's 35mm for some shots although we were disappointed since a LOT of them came out unfocused. We also used a waterproof camera for some of the pictures at Castaway Cay.
My friends are all digital camera aficianados and they swear by Olympus and Canon as the best "entry" model brands. $300+ for a decent camera doesn't sound very "entry" level to me though!
Mmouse...Thank You for the info, I just sat at the computer when I read your post and turned it on. As I was watching them talk about the Disney Wonder I said that guy looks familiar. Then I realized it was Capt. Henry Andersson. Wonder if he use to sail on the Wonder before the Magic.
Did anyone catch what he said about the cruising coming along way since the Titanic and then the lady they were interviewing said she still counted the lifeboats. How many people does each lifeboat hold? and how many are there? Missed what they asked for him to say that.
mjasp....the credit really goes to another poster who posted a thread about this the other day. I couldn't find it quick enough so I started a new one in case anyone wanted to catch it.
I also noticed Henry Andersson. He was our captain on two of our previous DCL cruises on the Magic. I am not sure if he was the captain of the Wonder at one time, I wouldn't doubt it. Alot of the shots seemed to be of both ships. My DD18 noticed some of the cruise staff from the Magic on the show so maybe they did interior shots of both ships. I also did not catch what the captain said about the lifeboats.....my family was laughing at me at the time because I was yelling at everyone to be quiet so I could hear...of course they thought that was hysterical....so I missed what he said.
I happened to catch some of it while channel surfing this afternoon too, it is actually a piece that has played many times before over the past year or so.
It's always good to the Disney ships and it was fun to see Cruise Director Rick as well.
Your photo gallery is great. I noticed in a few of your Castaway Cay pictures some clear, round inflatable tubes. Are these available at Castaway Cay? I thought the only floats you could get there were the blue, flat ones. My kids love these type of floats so I'm curious.
