Considering booking a Disney Cruise for next year and wondered if there are any discounts available to DVC members. Does anyone know?

I believe you can use your points toward a cruise but would prefer to hold onto these for an extended stay in WDW.

Sorry No not that I know of anyhow

but if you rebook onboard you get a discount for your next cruise

rember to let them know on board you are a DVC member and you will get a few freebies hats etc
like you I don't think I would use my points for cruising either

Paying a cruise with DVC points is, as most non-DVC "accomodations", usually a bad deal. If you need to get rid of your points, it is probably better to rent them and pay the cruise with the money received.

DCL generally stiffs DVC members on the points required to cruise. We cruised once on points but they've really raised the point requirements a lot over the past couple of years. Enough that we won't be using points to cruise again - I honestly think cash is a better option for the cruises.

I do think if you're ON a DCL cruise and you RE-book using points there's a bit of a point discount, but not a lot. Try posting this on the US DVC boards or on the Cruiseline board to find out for sure!! Someone on one of those boards will know!
