With all this talk about the Disney cruise It makes me want to go.The thing it that I am not sure if it's for me?I do not drink or like the idea of having a dress code at dinner or have to eat at set times.I am 32 but feel to old for the kid's stuff and have no interest adult offerings such as the clubs.I love the magic in the parks .Is there any of that magic on cruises?I have watched the vacation dvd and feel like they have things for adults such as the private pools and the clubs and they have things for teens and younger but they have nothing in between.I do not want to go and regret it and I do not want to regret not going.Does anybody feel the same?I would like to see some thoughts on this.

I've been going on cruises for many years and the great thing about them is that you can do as little or as much as you want. There is something for everyone, and yes, I must say that the magic is there on the ship.

You don't have to drink, in fact it is easy not to drink.

On formal nights you can wear something you are comfortable in ( the table next to us were wearing flowered shirts and shorts), or eat at the buffet or order room service.

I never went to any of the clubs, in fact I was so relaxed I fell asleep by 9pm most nights. I used the adult pool only because I liked swimming and you don't get splashed by kids.

There is a movie theatre showing disney movies all day long. Though I never made it to one. I never went to any of the activities for adults either except bingo one day.

I enjoyed strolling around the ship, eating, shopping, seeing shows and sight seeing.

It is true you can do as much or as little as you want. Think of it as a 5 star hotel, where you can do anything you want. They even broadcast the shows into your room, so you never have to leave your room if you don't want to.

Just GO!! I worked in the cruise sales industry in the past, i honestly cant think of ONE single person that i worked with that went on a Disney cruise and didnt have a great time. If you cant have a GREAT time on a Disney Cruise, then you might be the worlds most boring person. it is FUN. you dont have to dress up super nice, they just dont want you in beach attire in the dining room in the evening. Resort casual is fine. There is SO much to do, or NOT to do, you can just relax and swim, or read a great book while on the beach, or get a massage, or just pig out at the buffet all day. If you like having fun, and you like Disney, then you will like cruising. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that you will be thinking about taking a 2nd cruise before you even get off the first cruise, they are that much fun. just GO !!! you will have a GREAT time !

Don't forget the spa, fitness room, tours of the ship

I always tell people who haven't cruised to try a 3 day cruise if they're not sure. It's short enough that if you love it, you'll feel like it went by too fast. And it's not too long that if you hate it, you won't feel like it's an eternity before it ends.

Best case scenario is if you like it, you can get a rebooking discount while on the ship for a future cruise.

While the majority of people I know enjoy cruises, there are people out there who just don't. And you won't know which side of the fence you're on until you try it.

Great advice...that's why this is my first cruise...I finally made the decision to try it...and what better cruise to take than a Disney Cruise.

Thanks everybody for the help.I think I will try a 3-4 day.Wish i could do the podcast cruise this year but work will never let me out then maybe next year.

I know just how you feel. I have wanted to try a cruise, but I think the same things you do. I don't drink and I don't really like laying by the pool. The most appealing thing to me about a cruise is sitting out on my balconey in the morning with my coffee and at night watching the water. I just don't know what I'd do in-between.

you will be in PORT in between ! at least for 2 of the days. there is SO much to do onboard the cruise ship you have no idea. To be honest its kind of like someone that has never been to Disneyworld before saying, Well i dont really like rollercoasters, so i dont know what i will do all day. There are TONS of other things to do besides just laying by the pool or swimming. We are all Disney people here, we pretty much know what makes most Disney people tick, trust me, if you like Disney Service and entertainment, you will have a good time on a Disney Cruise.

This ONLY works really though if they are taking a Disney cruise. I would NOT use this advice for other cruiselines , specifically Carnival and Royal Caribbean. They all use the Oldest smallest ships for the 3 day cruises, and believe me, there is a difference between a small ship built in 1985 versus a large ship built in 2008. Disney would be fine for a 3 day because the ships are so nice, but not so with others. I used to always hear from people who went on the 3 day Carnival cruise that cost $299 how they didnt have too much fun and there wasnt that much to do. well DUH ! you picked the worst ship in their fleet, its half the size of the new ships and they have nothing fun to do on them ! if that same person had been on a New ship the would have had a completely different experience.

My point is with Disney you can take the 3 day for your first, but with any other pick at least a 5 day cruise and see how old the boat is and read up on it !! I wouldnt go on any boat older than about 10 years old for your first cruise.
