Disney cruise friendly for physically and mentally challanged child?????

We are planning a 3 night disney cruise with our daughter who has developmental delays and is physically handicap. My husband and I have gone on cruises before ,but they are usually party cruises so we don't know what to expect on a normal family cruise. Has anyone with a similar child gone on a disney cruise and what was your experience? Thank you for any information you can provide.

I've never been on any cruise but have considered it. There's a travel agency that specializes in this area called Autism on the Seas. You may want to look into them. They have a nice website, seem to be caring people, and DCL is one of the cruiselines they work with.

Our neighbor has a physically handicapped daughter and they love DCL. They have been on 4 Caribbean cruises and are taking an Alaskan Cruise next May. Their daughter is treated so well. No need to worry. DCL will bend over backwards to try to accommodate your daughter's needs. Just make sure you talk with the Club Counselors when you board the ship.

I have been on 2 disney cruises with my 13 year old disabled daughter. we had a wonderful time and can not wait to cruise again. My daughter could not part take in the club activities because she would require move care then they can give. I was welcome to bring her when were we wanted. But every childs needs are different my DD uses a wheelchair is non-verbal and not toilet trained . On the cruise line web site it says what the adult child ratio is in each age group of the club. OP, I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I wanted to thank Kay for this post. I read their information and was thrilled. My DH and I have discussed taking the family on a cruise but really weren't sure how we would work that out with our DD with severe autism. It looks like these folks have got it all figured. Thanks for sharing the information.

We just got off the Wonder one week today. My HFA son did so well. He was even in their show at the end of the cruise and did so great! I cried, of course
