Has anyone ever cruised with Disney while on Peritoneal dialysis? My father will be starting on dialysis next month and we're trying to plan a family reunion cruise for next year. I'd love to hear about your experiences and any advice you have. Thanks.

While I don't know anyone who has sailed on peritoneal dialysis, it certainly is possible. He would just need to bring his supplies or have them delivered ( this part would make me nervous as it's truly life-support supplies/equipment). He'll probably want to let his physician know that he's cruising, bring a list of his meds and emergency #'s. Really anyone with a medical condition should travel with these things...just in case, and esp. when you're leaving the US. If he tires easily he may want to consider renting an ECV, especially for visiting the ports and also just to get around the ship as it's quite large. I hope he has a great time! My son is on hemodialysis and I wish he'd consider peritoneal just so he could cruise and travel more freely.---Kathy
