Disney Credit Card

I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any special reasons to get a Disney Credit Card? I know all about the charging privelages in WDW, DL, Disney Stores & the Disney catalouge & the newsletter & updates, but I was wondering if there are any reasons to get it, like discounts or privelages, other than it's Disney & Pretty! Not really. Disney is about to launch a VISA card that will give you points for dollars spent to use toward merchandise and vacations. I would wait for the details on this card.

Thanks so much for bringing that up. I remember hearing that Disney was doing away with te Disney Club & offering a visa card. Do you know when the visa card wll become available? Thanks again so much!

I have a Disney credit card, and I just assumed I would get lots of offers along with it, but I don't. I use it at disney when I go with my son...instead of using cash. Then I pay for it when I get home.

... is that it will work like a Discover Card. Something like you would get 1% of your purchases back to spend on Disney stuff. If you run this correctly, charge everything you spend (you have to watch yourself on this) this could be a substantial amount. I have lots of friends that do this with frequent flyer charge cards. So in the long run this could be a much better deal than the Disney Club. Just my guess.

FYI - they are doing away with the Disney Club. Just got my new membership benefit pamphlet today. December 31, 2003, will be the last official day of the club.

Have a Disney Credit Card & never use it. No advantages to having one. It would be nice to get points or something for it. We are leaving in about 10 days & have 5 frequent flyer tickets that we got through our VISA.

If you pay it off every month then getting the extra "points" for things is really beneficial.
