Disney Credit Card Reward Dollars - Anyone use them yet?

Has anyone been able to use them to pay for excursions or use them in the shops on board? Just trying to plan how often I should use my card. I can't seem to find a clear answer as to how the rewards work when using them on DCL.

You cannot use them directly in the shops on the ship. You need to cash them in at Guest Services and they are supposed to apply those credits to your account for the cruise. Sort of like an Onboard Credit for whatever amount you cash in w/ them.

That will work for me. I guess I can use my card more often now.

Be sure to check your points on your statement and depending on when your cruise is, request to redeem them. Mine only took 1-2 weeks to get in the mail but I guess as the card gets more popular, the disney dollars will take longer to get...just a guess.
