Disney Credit - 2-3 Billing Cycles??

Yesterday I cancelled a MYW package I had booked with Disney. I had already paid the $200 deposit on it. She informed me that it would take 2-3 billing cycles for the credit to show up!!! Is this right??? Why in the world does it take 2-3 months for my $200 credit to come back into my account?? They sure take it out fast (1 day) so why can't it go back in within a reasonable amount of time? Is this normal with Disney?

They told me that last year and I got the credit within a week.

I think they say that to cover themselves. I also recently received a credit after two days. (Disney is not the only one to use the "two to three billing cycles" - I have had other businesses tell me the same thing and we were trained to say it at several places I worked)

They told me that yesterday, so I will post when the money hits...

I got a better deal with AAA, so I have to book that one as soon as the money from Disney comes back...

it took us 3 months of phone calls w/a handfull of CM's to get our credit back. It was a pain, real pain. This was with the Disney travel agency, not the CRO.. (we origionally booked online and I believe the Travel Agency runs it), when we cancled those reservations and placed new ones w/the CRO we had to cancel our first resv. and place money down on the second new set! they couldnt transfer the money! go figure....

I've had it go both ways...they've said 2-3 billing cycles each time. One time it was credited within 10 days, the other time it took almost 2 months.

having worked for the #2 credit issuer in the USA, I can honestly tell you that this is a standard practice. It depends on where you are in your cycle, and when the credit is issued as to when it will show up on your statement.

Most times it's usually less than 10 days, but by law the companys involved have 90 days to issue your refund. Sometimes the credit issuer holds back the funds so that they can generate more interest on the outstanding balance. *shrug* it's the cost of doing business.

You will see your refund, don't fret, but don't be too anxious either, some times things take time. *hug*
