Disney Company Wide Pay Freeze 2017 - Rumor True??

I've seen it personally: using the 30 hour minimum as an excuse to slash benefits with a million excuses built in.

It's a tactic all too common these days. I guess people don't expect the mouse to be in on it too. Aside from going down the politics rabbit hole, this is what happens when it's clear what's good for wall street isn't good for the regular person.

No argument

Not as much...they have the provision to drop fulltimers back to 32 or increase them to 48 at their own discretion in most cases
Good. But having part-timers gives them even more flexibility.

IMHO, the big picture is that workers who are underpaid or have pay freezes aren't happy workers. The unhappiness will also impact the customer's experience. We dealt with enough grumpy cast members with our last Disney trip and have no desire for that to be the norm!

When a company I worked for years ago froze everyone's pay, morale plunged and people started looking for other jobs.

If you take care of your people, your people will take care of you.

The rank and file...at least at wdw...have been prophesizing this very thing for about the last 25 years.

Like all prophecies...it appears it will never come true/matter.

The simplest explanation is that the customers simply don't care. Not to statistically significant. If they have a bad experience...they steam over it for a while...but most then get back in line for tinkerbell and book another trip later.

I don't disagree with the overall premise here. But, there are other factors besides pay that affect an employee's happiness.

So...apparently this whole thread is based on an unproven assertion. But why let that stop us???

No matter where it came from...the theory behind it is worthy of meaningful social discussion...wouldn't you agree?

You don't schill for the Florida operation. Even without a "pay freeze"...there's an underlying element in the swamp that should be taken into account when we book after hours magic, no?
