Disney Commercials

I don't watch much tv so hadn't really noticed this, however ever since it was mentioned that is all I see. It's starting to make me crazy since I still have to wait 9 mths till my trip. lol :(

Long time troll, first time poster here!
YES, I absolutely have noticed there are Ads on the TV all over the place! We are in the middle of sussing out our july trip to DL and its making me so crazy I actually looked into booking a quick feb trip, but my lovely DH talked me out of it.

I'm not surprised that Canadians make up a large portion of their visitors. I remember about 17 yrs ago when my husband and I first went to WDW. Everytime we were asked where we're from and we said Ontario, we got a blank stare and then we would add Canada and we'd get a smile, but we always had a weird feeling that very few came at that time.

But I think over the last 6-7 years I have seen such a huge increase in number of people we meet from Canada. And in most cases CM who no longer ask us strange questions about the weather or how cold it is in Canada or how much snow we get. They know. Many times I've been told by resort CMs that they had several guests from xxx city. We've had CMs come up to us and say "Canadians?" - and we would look all over our clothes to find out how they knew....sometimes my children would be wearing Roots sweaters...other times, they just said with a smile - "you look Canadian" ---which according to them is a great compliment.

We have also stayed, during March Break (so not much of a surprise) at AKV and met 4 families from our neighbourhood staying there. It was absolutely incredible.

And I think that they know that if they treat us well, they have us for life! :)

It's running a lot on the cable channels too, so I am guess they're targeting moms - in Canada, as in most places, moms make most purchasing decisions! :worship: ;)

The cool thing I noticed is if you have 'Shazam' on your tablet or smartphone, you can 'shazam' the commercial for more info, and the band's video at WDW... pretty smart. Shazam is meant for music, but it works pretty well for tv!

I am dating myself, but the last time I went to Disney World, it was around the Ben Johnson steroid scandal time, and I wore a shirt to the MK that said: Made in Canada: Steroid Free Body.

People from all over the world got that one! :rotfl:
