Disney.co.uk & US res number

Oh dear. Someone didn't delete the in-house communication first :rotfl:

You should save that email for the future. You can always pull them up on the Aim to please instruction. :lmao:

I don't mean to criticise unnecessarily, but since WDW is IN the USA and they have a UK office, it would make a whole lot more sense to have one format for all reservation numbers. Once the resorts recieve the bookings, they only get the 12 digit ones so I don't see why it sometimes gets guarded like a state secret.

Although the alpha numeric one is fine for ADRs, the CM I spoke to did confirm that the 12 digit one is needed to make full use of the features re. your booking on the .com website, as well as OLCI and viewing your reservation on the US system. She just mentioned that now I can go ahead and do the forementioned as I now had my US ressie no.

I'd better write them in a safe place in case I lose the piece of paper now!

Just wondering, how do I go about booking ADR's when booking with VH. I had to do them last year online, but my Mom called up and sorted them out (I was away) and then I got the rest of my ADRs when the online system was introduced.

Sorry if thats confusing, basically, do I still email / phone Disney to get my 12 digit number even though I've booked with VH?

TIA! :thumbsup2

Yes, you still need to contact Disney. It looks like results vary widely with each method used so you may need to be very persistent and email and phone. I expected to be given the run-around when I called and had made coffee and grabbed a couple of biscuits intending to keep redialling and speak to someone else until I got what I wanted.

I never had a problem last time - I asked for it when I booked and they gave it to me, but knew nothing about it this time. :upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow

I have got mine from VH in the past without a problem - as with Disney it probably depends on who you speak to!

How easy was that?

Not being one to sit around waiting for something on my to-do list :rotfl: I phoned Disney UK, went straight through, asked for my US reservation no and the lovely CM said "Sure, would you like the 12 digit and the alpha-numerical number?"
"Yes please."

"Here you go."

Phone call less than 4 minutes.

Just goes to show it depends who you talk to. :cool2:

Was this the number you called? 0870 24 24 900

For Rooms , I normally contact customer services via the phone (US) they make notes on your booking page, I then email and fax the actual resort hotel about 7 days before we are due to arrive @ DW... Seems to have worked ok the 2 times that way for me.... :thumbsup2

Just trying to get organised, is the this number? U.S. Guest Information
(407) 939-6244

Well I tried phoning UK for the 12 digit number they have given me an 8 long alpha numeric number - 3 letters 5 numbers. I tried retrieving my booking on the us site but no luck. Phoned back but they don't know what I am talking about!:confused3 Are the letters in the ref no usually capitals?

Yes, the letters are capitals and it is case sensitive. The alpha numeric number should be fine to do ADRs. It's other things you need the 12 digit number for, but for most people, they just want the ADRs. You may need to keep calling back and speaking to someone else until you get a CM who knows what you are talking about, but if you only want to use your no. for ADRs, the one you have should be fine.

Its not bringing up my reservation keeps saying error we cannot retrieve your reservation at this time.

I think I may need both numbers as I want to book ADRs that require prepayment or deposit and I have free DDP. Do I still have to prepay or leave a deposit on ADRs with free dining?

And thank you for replying.:)

Are you retrieving your reservation in the dining window, or are you doing it on the main page? If you do it on the main page, it is looking for your room reservation for online check in and it won't bring it up. You need to click on the link to make a dining reservation. Then select the date you want (or as far as you can go anyway) and it will ask you if you want to associate your reservation. That is where you need to put your number in. :goodvibes

I called DisneyUK yesterday and I was also told they could only supply the alpha numeric number. I sent an email yesterday and have just received my `12 digit US number, together with my first date of online booking which is 02 February (my birthday - so I will easily remember that :rolleyes1)

Wow, that was pretty quick. I also originally emailed Disney yesterday, before I got impatient and phoned :rotfl: but they haven't replied yet.

How cool: ADRs on your birthday. And with GMT that gives you time for breakfast in bed and opening your pressies before you have to go online ;)

I had no problem doing this for this Aug but I don't see it anymore, where is "associate your reservation."
Why do they have to change things?:goodvibes

You're right - it's gone!!!! I agree - change is good ..... but only when it suits me! :lmao:

Darthatty posted on another thread that at the moment you have to call to do the +10 thing. Apparently it has been down online for a few weeks now. I had no idea.

EDIT: It shows this:

We're sorry but this service is currently not available online. If you have a resort reservation and need to book greater than 180 days, please call 407-WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Lovely thought but I reckon I will be at work

This was the email reply from Disney..............

And before you ask....I have edited the ADR reference numbers :lmao:

Dear Nigel
Thank you for your email requesting the reference number linked to your booking. The 12-digit reference number you are needing to book your dining for arrival date 01Aug11 is 123456123456. You may book your dining online and insert the 12-digit reference number listed above. The earliest you can use this reference number to book your dining will be 02Feb11. This date marks 180 days prior to check in date. You may book up to 10 days of your stay for your dining on this date. Each one day date after 02Feb11, can be booked for the other 11 nights of stay.

You may also call into the Dine Line and to speak to a Disney Expert by dialing US 407-939-3463 anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, seven (7) days a week, and provide the above listed 12-digit reference number. The Disney Dining Expert may ask you for a package booking number having letters as well as numbers. The booking number you would then provide would be ABC12345.

You simply choose the restaurant(s) in which you wish to dine and decide on the date and time; availability will then be checked at the restaurant and your specified date and time will be confirmed or you will be offered an alternative if your first choice is not available. Then select the time you wish to dine from the options listed, ‘add to dining cart’ and then once you have made all of your selections just ‘check out’ and follow the steps detailed on the next page.

A wonderful suggestion given to me in the past; you will want to try to book the restaurant(s) you really must dine in, first, then on the remaining open days, fill in with the other restaurants.

We are looking forward to your visiting and making lifetime memories at Disney’s Old Key West Resort in August 2011.

Sincerely,

Bev

Looking at your ticker and bearing in mind the wide range of time spans it has taken for the posters on this thread to get their ADRs, I would contact both as soon as possible. The worst that could happen is that you get your number given to you more than once. ;)
