This is the first year I am a member, so I don't know what benefits I missed out on a few years ago. However, we are staying at the Fairway Villas at Disney Institute this November and received 20% off our room and $75 Disney dollars which more than paid for itself!

When I first called to make our reservations they told me the discounts were all gone (or not available, or something) I kept calling every couple of weeks and did finally get the room discount. The Disney dollars however were always there, it had nothing to do with the room discount

I'm not sure. I called and got a really nice CM and explained that I am going to Disney in June, just joined the Disney Club and wanted to know what deals/specials they could give. Since it was June he could offer nothing on the room but very nicely stated that he would be happy to give the $75 in disney dollars/room. I thought great!

It sounds as though it was luck, I would just call & act sweet and as though you don't know much ... works for me!

When we first booked our "package" from WDW we were told we would get $50. in D$s. When I changed the ressie to not have LOS passes, they took the $50.00 away - said it only came with the package?????????

Like most of you I have not seen any benefits of my membership. I was hoping that I would at least save some money with the Disney Magazine. Members are supposed to receive free membership, correct? Has anyone else received their magazine?

I've recieved mine. I think they come quarterly. But if you just joined, you're supposed to get the most resent edition.

arrrrgghhhh! I wish I read this post 15 mins. ago! I'd be $30 dollars richer right not.
Is the Disney Club really that bad?
I'm planning on using it for passes and a National rental car(with the DC Contract #5901600 I got a discount of $43.20 on my rental) seems it may have paid for itself already.

I was wondering if you apply for the card online if they give you a number that you can use immediately to book a reservation and get a discount or do you have to actually wait for the card to arrive? I called our local Disney store to see if I could buy it there but they told me they only have applications. We are interested in going off season but I don't want to wait weeks for a card and then find out all the rooms are booked. Thanks!

I signed up over the phone and told them I needed the number ASAP so I could make (actually change) my reservations, etc. I had two rooms with Resort Magic reserved at All Star Movies in June--I could get the card for $30 thru work so it seemed like a good deal--the person who signed me up said I could call and change my reservations as soon as I got my DC #--she took my e-mail address and said I would receive an e-mail giving me my DC# within 24-48 hours--I got it the next day--I then called to change my reservations--no discount on room because of value resorts in June but I had expected 5% discount on my LOS (Resort Magic)passes but was surprised when my total reservation cost actually went up about $5--questioned it and was told it was a "tax" difference but I would get $50 Disney dollars at check-in--got to thinking about it so called back next day and questioned and was told rate was the same but would get $250 Disney dollars ($50/person) which sounded too good to be true--actually found later it's $50/room so I'll get $100 since I have two rooms.
You get 10% off at Planet Hollywood, Rain Forest Cafe, Cheesecake Factory (In Disney Quest) and Sports Cafe

I purchased the card because I loved to shop for clothes at the Disney Store. Now that they are limiting the adult clothing line I was considering sending it back to them, but low and behold, I just got the $50 Disney Dollars for booking a trip. That $50 paid the $29.95 membership fee with a few dollars to spare. I guess I'll keep it!

Please, can someone tell me how they got the Disney Dollars? We're booked for CBR/AKL in December and were not told of any deal like this. Do you have to have the length of stay pass before they'll give you the dollars or would you get them automatically.

Lynn

What number did you call about the Disney Dollars? I've tried the Dolphin (where I'm staying), the Disney Club, etc, and no one knows anything.

But I've always had a discount on our room, that's what originally got us into MK Club/Disney Club. We typically go every year in May to the Wilderness Lodge. We get the 10% off the room and also on our tickets. Last year, we finally figured out it was a good deal to get the ap and received a disc on that. There are a lot of duplicate discounts if you have both ap and dc but the dc gives you discounts on rooms far in advance where with the ap, you have wait and hope. We planned a last minute trip last Sept and got a killer rate at the WL with our ap discount. DC rates were already long gone. We typically book far in advance (practically right after we get home from the last trip). Maybe that makes it easier for us to secure the dc discount. We can then always convert it to an ap rate when/if they become available.

If you stay for a week or more (we usually hit 8-10 days) it's easy to make back the money you spent on dc dues. If you're only going for 3 nights and you plan your trips at the last minute, it may not suit your needs.

I have been a member of the club for several years and have had a very good experience with it. We booked a room at the WL for the last week of August and saved about $1800. on it. Although we did book a package and will receive $75 in disney money. Not sure if it was because of the package or the date we are going, as to why I received such a great deal.

Hope this helps

Can't wait to go!!!!!!!! :) :D

I just signed up too, with the intention of getting a discount on the hotel. I was under the impression that June was 10% for the All Stars, some posts say that there is no discount for June. I swear I read that on the webpage.

We had originally booked thru dreams Unlimited for DL/riverside for $144 night with taxes. We joined the club and now have it for $114.54 a night with taxes. I think that's a savings. We are going after Thanksgiving till Dec 2nd.
