Disney Club Discount???

I was wondering if you joined the disney club are you GUARANTEED a discount on your resort? Before it was hit or miss if you could use it for resort discounts. I am booked at Fort Wilderness Cabins and even 5% would be a big help. Thanks in advance.

There is indeed a discount but if you already have AAA you can get exactly the same one, without paying $30 - $40 more.

There is no guarantee on a room discount. It just depends on when you are going and if all the available DC discounts have been used up by others for that time and resort.

Providing DC rooms are available, you will receive either a 10% or 15% discount for the Fort Wilderness Cabins depending on when you go in 2002. ~~

Keep in mind if you don't like it they guarantee your money back. I joined to find out if I would save money on All Star Movies which I did so I am keeping the card.

Debbie - Do not allow the lone dissenting opinion to convince you that the Disney Club is of little or no value. When considering whether to join DC, you need to weigh ALL of the features that are included with membership. The overwhelming majority of posters will indicate that they find significant benefit to being a DC member.

The room/resort discount is just 1 of the many benefits that you get by joining DC.

If you send me an email, I'd be glad to tell you what the discount percentage will be for the date of your vacation.

I belong to DC even though we are DVC members and don't use the discount for a room rate. We definitely make up the cost of the membership just using the 10% off at DD and TDS shopping and on meal discounts. Also, gets you great discounts on National rental car.

But to your original question, there are a set number of rooms at discounted rates (some for DC discount, some for AAA discount, etc.), so whether you get a discounted room rate or not depends on what availability is for those particular rooms when you make your ressie. If you're booking fairly far in advance, you'll have a very good chance of getting the DC discount.
