Today I spoke with a person at The Disney Club Headquarters about next year's membership. For example, my membership expires at the end of February, so I will only receive ten months of service and Disney Store discounts next year, and based on the mailing of The Disney Magazine will only get three issues instead of four.

I was told that "During November" people will be able to call the toll-free phone number which is on the back of the membership card and be told the amount for the pro-rata membership fee for the fraction of a year to December 31. A warning was given that they may not be up an running with this on November 1st.

Also, it is important to remember that they will not accept any renewals or new memberships after December 12th.

I was asked to destroy all the application forms I had on hand and not to give any out to potential new members.

I'm trying very hard to justify renewing my DC membership through 12/31/03 and so far, I cannot come up with even one single reason to do so! If we decide to buy annual passes again, I can just buy the vouchers before our current membership expires. If we need PH or PHP passes, the online ticket brokers offer the same or better discounts.

There are other car rental discounts available to me (just as good as the DC), my DVC membership gives me a discount at TDS and pretty much the same (or better) dining discounts. Even if we didn't have DVC for accomodations, the codes/AP discounts have been much better than the DC discount. DC does occasionally offer a small discount on the traveling shows (Disney on Ice, B&B, etc.), but that hardly justifies a $29.99 membership fee.

Looks like the DC & I will be parting company long before 12/31/03. :(

Just remember, the vouchers for AP's are only good for a certain length of time. (3 months, I think)
I bought them early using my DC for my parents anniversary and by the time I gave the vouchers to them, they only had a couple of days to go to redeem them!

Really? We purchased APs online before the price increase, and they don't have any expiration date on them - just the date they were purchased. From everything I've heard/understood, vouchers don't expire. I sure hope ours don't - we paid quite a bit of money for them, and our trip won't be until March 2003! I sure don't want the first thing we do after checking in to be to go raise a fit at Guest Services because they failed to include an expiration date on our vouchers when they printed them.

Mur!

The WDW vouchers I got do not have an expiration date on them.

Hmmm...well, the vouchers that I purchased had an expiration date clearly printed on the ticket. I got it in July of this year and it expired in October of this year. It was a voucher for an AP purchased using my DC at DL. I guess they're two different types of vouchers?

Roy

P.S. These vouchers were for AP's at Disneyland Resort, not WDW....maybe that's the difference?

Sounds like there is a difference between DL vouchers and WDW vouchers.

The vouchers for WDW annual passes do not expire.
