Disney Clothing... is it ALL so, er, Disney?

I have 3 of the Disney beads by Chamila that I wear on my pandora bracelet. I bought 1 at Disneyland and 2 at Disney World. I love them, they are very subtle (not that anyone looks at my bracelet but me). They don't have characters on them at all, each one has a quote with a simple design. "Believing is just the beginning", "dreams really do come true", and "a dream is a wish your heart makes."

Not clothing but if you enjoy tea, the Disney Wonderland tea is amazing! I got the 3 tin tower so I could try a variety but the Mad Tea Party blend was my favorite. I plan to stock up during our next trip.

When I was little my favorite thing to get at Disneyland were those little glass animals. I think I might start up another collection of those.

Lastly, a really neat souvenir would be the silhouettes....and much more economical than the price of a tshirt or sweatshirt. I would recommend splurging for the frames too. I bought the silhouettes one trip and figured I would jest get some frames at Michael's. I never could find the right frames so the next trip down, I bought 2 frames.

So the one dilemma I've always had on our trips is what to buy for myself for a memento/souvenir. Every time we go shopping there......

I just can't justify spending the (huge amount of) money they charge for something I know I'll never wear again.

What if you buy stuff to wear at the parks and to bring back on future trips? Can you wear the bright bold stuff while there? Fashion goes a bit off kilter there, after all.

Inside Disneyland, in New Orleans Square, is a darling shop, La Mascarade d'Orleans, with French/New Orleans inspired accessories and decor items. And there is one section of the Elias and Co. on Buena Vista Street, in DCA that has high end clothing and accessories.

I've seen stuff with just a little embroidered logo about left-breast height. My wife has one that she got before we met. That's easily something that could be worn casually on the weekend without calling much attention.

There is the medium gray "distressed" Mickey Mouse t-shirt. I actually bought a full set (men's/women's/todder) for the family so we'd have matching clothing. I actually got ours from the online Disney Store, but I've seen the same pattern sold at Disneyland with the Disney Parks logo on the inside.

I don't buy shirts at Disney, they are just ridiculously priced, but really I guess everything is. I buy Alex and Ani bracelets and I also love bags/totes/purses. Those things I tend to use all the time at home!

I have a Chamilia bracelet, too, and my souvenir on our last trip was the Disneyland bead (sterling, has "Disneyland" carved out in the park logo font, and has small magenta stones with engraving around them like fireworks). It's my favorite bead on my bracelet (I have several Disney ones). Starting a bracelet makes a fun souvenir -- I plan to add a new bead on our November trip!

Honestly, this is what I'm trying to avoid. We only go to Disney every 2 or 3 years so to me, buying something that can only be worn at Disney (which I think is what many people do) is a waste of hard earned money... hence my dilemma

I agree about a lot of the clothes! I do wear baseball hats and found a white one with a pink capital D in Disney script. I wear it a lot and hope I can find something equally subtle on our next trip. I will most likely look for jewelry or a cute scarf if I can find one.

Ooh! This would be perfect! I actually plan to buy a hat because I'm totally a hat person but can never find one that I'm confident I would wear outside of the parks. This one sounds totally like something I would wear. Can I ask where you found it?

I know the hat she's talking about and it's super cute. They also had a really pretty navy and white striped sunhat that had a ribbon and silver mickey head. I loved it but got a Mickey "sweatshirt" instead. I saw the hats at Mad Hatter in Fantasyland and a few other places I can't remember offhand.

I know what you mean about some stuff being too bright and busy. This is the shirt I bought. It does have a giant Mickey on it but I liked the colours, the fact it looked like a varsity school shirt with the stripes on the arms, and it looks cute with leggings.

I go for Disney scarves. Some are significantly more obvious than others.... If I want it a little "understated," I'll wear it more bunched up, and if I'm in a more "up" mood, I will wear them more like a shrug over a tank top. Here's 2 of my most-often-worn scarves:

I saw it in the Emporium on Main Street and in WOD in DTD. Haven't tried it myself, but I know others who say it's absolutely delish!

My DH loves that tea. Two trips ago I brought him back the set of three in the stacking metal tin. Last year I brought him back the bigger boxes of the three and an extra of the Mad Tea Party blend. This time he's coming too so he can pick out his own tea. I've always bought it in the big Disney store in the downtown area-and every other Disney food snack to bring home too.

I'm with the OP on this. I definitely like more subtle branding on everything I wear... it's just my style. Even my college clothing... or my fraternity sweatshirt... I always liked the subtle lettering rather than for the branding to take over the whole shirt.

I definitely think big, bold graphics can be a lot of fun but it's not as much my style.

I always liked the Disney Clothiers on Main Street for having some items that fit that style. Here's a polo that I picked up last summer in a different color. It's got a Mickey Mouse that's about on par with a Polo horse or an Abercrombie moose... but much cooler than either.

I usually get some sort of kitchen gadget (whisk, spatula, etc.). Last year I found an awesome white lightweight scarf with black paisley print and hidden mickeys all over. This year I'm planning to add an Alex and ani bracelet and a Vera Bradley makeup bag.
