Hi everyone! I decided to write a pretrip report as therapy to help me wait until the date gets here!
DH and I have been planning a surprise trip to WDW in December for our kids, DD6 and DS3. We booked in February and have been having a hard time keeping quiet ever since! (Luckily I have a few friends who understand my obsession with this trip!
)
We have been trying to figure out how to keep it a surprise and when to reveal the surprise. I think we have come up with a solution. We always got out and get our Christmas tree over Thanksgiving weekend, but this year we are going to tell them that we are going to wait because the tree will get too dry if we get it so soon, but we will still plan on decorating the house with our other decorations. So the stockings will be hung...
On the day we are leaving I plan to have all the bags packed and waiting in front of the fireplace with notes from Santa Claus in each stocking with Disney dollars and an explanation that he and Mommy and Daddy talked and they decided that WDW is what they wanted for Christmas most of all.
Inside the bags will be invitations to MVMCP, BBB and character dining along with a new Belle Christmas dress and a Woody costume. So even once we get there, they will keep finding surprises.
I planned our ADRs long ago and was really excited to see extended hours at MK for the night we arrive. Last time we went in January and the regular hours were a little later, so we made it to the MK for Spectromagic and Wishes. We will have no problem making it this time either with the longer hours. It is a great way to start our trip!
