I applied for the card and got the "Further processing required" message 2 weeks ago...today I received a letter wanting me to call a number to verify information, and when I do that they will continue processing the application. Has anyone also received this and gone on to be approved for the card or is this a slow way of being denied?

When I applied for mine online, several years ago, it was a quick process and I received my card # immediately and my actual card in about 10 days. Granted this was prior to the economy tanking so I think all credit card companies now a days are looking at credit reports more closely thus the turn around time for the approval process is slower. Maybe give them a call and see what's up.

It says to call Monday-Friday, so I have to wait a couple of days. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced it...it's hard to have to wait and wonder:worried:

Sounds suspect. I would call the card company at the number on the ap (not the # from the correspondence you received) and ask if it was them that requested it.

When I applied, we got the "further processing required" message too. I thought that was a certain denial, but 2 weeks later the card showed up in the mail. I never received a letter asking me to call. I agree with pp, call the number on the site, not the number on the letter. Good luck! :goodvibes

We applied on 2/5. We just got a large envelope in the mail Thursday (2/19) congratulating us on our new premier card, saying how much we will enjoy the new Premier card and what benefits to expect. However, we still haven't received the cards. I guess I will be calling them tomorrow.

That's better than getting a denial, just means they want to verify things with you. You will probably get approved once you call. If the letter came directly from Chase, I wouldn't worry about it being suspect.

I rec'd the same message after applying, called the number and they approved me after a couple more questions. Took less than 5 minutes. I haven't gotten my card yet but this was just a few days ago so not enough time to have come in the mail yet anyways.

Thanks for all the replies- I feel better about it now. I will call Monday and see what they need.:flower::flower:

It happens sometime when I apply with Chase. It's usually no big deal. If you already have Chase cards, they might ask why you need this one as well.

My husband said that this probably means your credit is "fair" and they want some further info. He said if companies see you have a good credit score (like 720 or higher) then they don't question what you put in for income, you've proven your credit-worthiness via credit score. But if it's borderline, then they may just need to verify more info before issuing it. He said most likely you'll get it though.

That is strange. When I applied for my Disney Premier Visa, I was approved almost immediately and had the card in a little over a week. Not really sure what's going on.
