Disney Channel Games 2008???

is cody linley really going to be there!? where'd you find that list! and also, miley is playing in the games :] and for everyone wondering, she's definitely in the concert!

Jonas Brothers will be there. The Cheetah Girls, too. The Disney Channel Games start Monday and run through next Friday.

The event enlists the channel's young celebrities in elaborate competitions played for charity. The competitors will build a chariot to race, play pieces on a giant foos table and match fellow stars to their baby pictures.

The games unfold from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in Champion Stadium at Disney's Wide World of Sports, off Interstate 4, southwest of Orlando. May 2 events start at 2 p.m.

"We're inviting people to come and watch, but it's a working production," said Adam Sanderson, senior vice president of brand marketing for the Disney ABC Networks Group. "It's not staged as a sporting event."

The footage will become five half-hour telecasts that start in late July. Brian Stepanek of "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" will host.

The lineup of talent confirmed to date includes:

From "Camp Rock": Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Alyson Stoner, Jasmine Richards, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Meaghan Jette Martin and Roshon Fegan.

From "Hannah Montana": Jason Earles, Mitchel Musso, Moises Arias and Cody Linley.

From "The Cheetah Girls One World": Adrienne Bailon, Kiely Williams, Sabrina Bryan and Kunal Sharma.

From "Wizards of Waverly Place": David Henrie, Selena Gomez, Jake T. Austin and Jennifer Stone.

From "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody": Dylan Sprouse, Cole Sprouse and Brenda Song.

From "Cory in the House": Kyle Massey and Jason Dolley.

There will be Disney Channel stars from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Spain, Japan, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.

Sanderson said there will be plenty of grandstand seating.

"We can't have regular kids on the field," he said. "The talent will be walking around, playing the games. They'll be able to see the talent."

The celebrities will play for charities: Boys & Girls Club, UNICEF, Make-A-Wish and Starlight Starbright.

Sanderson said the challenges this year will be visually bigger so they come across well on television.

"Everybody is out there to have fun," Sanderson said. "It makes for great programming. Our audience gets to see more of them as real people. It's cool that you get to see them out there being regular teens."

Peformances from a May 3 concert, for which tickets have been distributed, will be incorporated in the half-hours. Performing at the concert will be Jonas Brothers, the Cheetah Girls, Demi Lovato and Jordan Pruitt.

It is the latest entry about the DCG on Hal's Blog.It is VERY confusing!This is the first time I have seen ANYTHING about events on Friday except for the Friday night "not open to the public" event and this entry on Hal's Blog DOES NOT list MILEY CYRUS!

Thanks again for all your help. Earlier you reported that Miley was going to have some participation. She is not listed as a participant now. Is there a change or something we should know? Also what are they doing on the 2nd? It says it starts at two pm. Is that more taping or is something else going on? The concert on the 3rd was also spoken to have Jordan Pruitt and other disney stars? Is there any more info on performers?

They are having soft openings for cast members the entire week. Me and my party are going to the cast preview on Saturday, then heading over to the concert afterwards.

From what I understand from the bulletins posted around the area, it's just cast right now, not AP passholders or general public.

The RUMORED schedule that I have seen lists Today as a Soft Opening;Tomorrow and Sunday as Cast Previews;Tuesday and Wednesday as Promotional Filming;and Friday,Saturday and Sunday as Cast Previews.Since Monday and Thursday aren't listed,I am hoping they will be Soft Opening days so I will have a chance to ride.TSM better be GOOD since they closed one of my favorite all-time attractions-Who Wants To be A Millionaire-Play It!-To make room for it!LOL

First of all, I posted on this board about a month ago on page 10, I think, and today I look for it and WOW!,pag 100+.
So, here's my situation. I was lucky enough to get tik for the concert (seats) but I have kids in school here in Orlando, and I'm thinking on heading over on Tuesday around 4pm to 7pm for the taping.
What do you guys that have been there think, is it worth it? I know that there's down time (I was there at the christmas parade taping last year) but do you think the kids could get a chance to see some filming or even get an autograph?

I think it depends on how BIG of a Disney Channel fan you and your kids are. If you are HUGE fans then I say Go For It! If you get there at 4 PM and stay until 7 PM,I will ALMOST guarantee you that you will see Disney Channel Stars and have a CHANCE at autographs,but as they say-IT IS A TELEVISION PRODUCTION-you are not guaranteed to see ANYTHING if you go. Only you and your kids can decide for sure if it is worth the "hassle" of driving over for something that will "probably" happen,but is not "guaranteed".

Wha? No Miley? I can't imagine her not participating in some sort!

Disney is always trying to outdo earlier years, make things bigger and better. Without Miley it doesn't seem all that "bigger and better".

I hope she ends up participating.

So the "TBD" basically means there are no games Friday? Why doesn't it say they're not opened to the public instead of leading us to believe they're planning to make a time frame for that day. Sheesh, this is just not working too good for us. First, like a dumby I waited until the date they said you could start emailing to get tickets and by that time there was no chance. Luckily dd doesn't know about the concert since we can't get tix anyway. Now, we're getting there on Thurs. but not sure what time. Told dd we'd go check the games out Friday but that doesn't look good anymore... what a terrible mom I am now...we'll just have to try to get up there earlier on Thursday then if we can. (and Rosemarie's address is now no longer valid to find out anymore details...)

I forwarded her email to Hal Boedeker at the Orlando Sentinel. He's the one who posted that the Friday taping starts at 2pm. Maybe he can get some clarification for us.
