I'm a Disney Card Member and have about 1500 reward points (yay, free flights!!). Once I turn those into Disney Gift cards, how do I pay for my trip with them? (I've a booking question posted as well in another forum.)

And as a Disney Card Member, I am entitled to other perks and discounts, but I'm wondering if they are too much of a pain to actually use. I got the card like two years ago and it's just 1% back, and we've been using it for about everything since. We'll continue to do so until our trip, so I'm hoping to have another $1000 by our trip. I got it just for the 1% back thinking the other stuff would be painful to actually take advantage of, so I'm ok with it.

Anyone have any experiences, thoughts, or advice??

1500 points? Wow that would be like $150,000 in 2 years, even if I used mine for everything I couldn't come close to spending that much.

As far as redeeming, I transferred my points onto the redemption card then just paid for the resort reservation with that card, and the remainder on the visa.

I can't speak to the other benefits as I've never used them.

It is!! But DH uses it to pay for work stuff too that we get reimbursed for...all his travel expenses, and corporate everything, plus lots of money in retail purchases for work. I figure I should benefit in some way for floating small loans to his company...

That's great, I would definitely do that given the chance! Like you said, free flights and more :) Have you considered switched to the premier card? I'm trying to decide if the $50 annual fee would help me, but in your case getting 2% on all gas and food would probably give you a big benefit from your DH's expenses.

That's only with the premier card and you charge your tickets with the card and then use points to pay it off.I have the premier card and I think it's definitely worth it.Gas, groceries ,restaurants and Disney charges are 2%. Every thing else is 1%. I get close to $100.00 a month now, when i only got around 40.00 before. My sister is on my account ,so it adds up.
