I just have to do this when we are there in December but my question is about the dinner tiers. I want to eat at the Biergarten because I spent a lot of my youth in Germany and I thought the kids would love the music and "show." We haven't been to that restaurant since our honeymoon and I really want to try again. That being said it is the least expensive tier for the CP dinner. Is seating based on tiers or on when you get in the preferred seating line up? DH will make me book a more exspensive dinner if he thinks he will have to wait in line less or get closer but I don't think that is how it works. Those of you who have done it before help a Disney Christmas veteran out.

Thanks in advance :santa:

The seating is not related to the tiers, just the restaurant and the prices are related to the tiers.

You can get in line anytime and you will have people of all Tiers entering the theatre at the same time as you -- no need to do the most expensive package.

I'm not sure, exactly how it worked. Here's what we observed. We were Tier II. There were 3 roped off sections, which looked like it corresponded to 3 Tiers. Some people who came in at the last minute, after others entered, & some even after the show started and were seated were sat in the first roped off section, which we thought was Tier I, which never filled up and had several empty rows. Also in Tier II, there were 2 fairly empty rows behind us, where a few people sat but there was an empty row behind that and no one sat there. That whole roped off section corresponded to a second Tier, or roped off section. Then there was a third roped off section, which looked like Tier III, which had a lot of people in it. Behind that was some standing room only. If we could have moved to the front, we sure would have, and it seems like people in the third roped off section who would have liked to sit in our section that had space, could not. It did seem to correspond to the three tiers, and everyone in our 2nd section roped off had the same color stickers on their shirts/jackets as we did (we had for that year red colored Tier II seating stickers). There were different color stickers which seemed to correspond to a different section. However, it is true that we all stood in line at the same time, and we all entered the same time. There are different lines that we entered into - there was more than one line. We showed them the sticker and they told us which line to get into, we didn't have a choice about that, we actually were in one line and when they showed us the sticker they told us to get into a different line. We liked our 2nd tier seating seats. I'm not sure if they had a Tier I preferred seating that would have given a better view, if so, the next time we go, we would like to probably get Tier I, but for us Tier II was fantastic and good enough, especially with a large group of us. We really enjoyed the performance.

We went to the Candlelight Processional on both the 19th and the 23rd of December. They only had two lines while we were there. One for standby and one for the dinner package. When we got into line everyone around us had the same colored sticker as us. Once we moved into the pavillion we were allowed to sit whereever we wanted to. On the 19th we went to the 6:45pm show and we ate at the Garden Grill. On the 23rd we went to the 5pm dinner show and we ate at Tutto Italia. Not sure what categories these restaurants fit into because we were on the dining plan and picked based on the menu offered. For both shows we had pretty good seats. Both times we sat on the far left as you face the stage. The first show we were back in the second section but the 2nd show we were in the 3rd or 4th row in the front section. Maybe depending on when you went and how popular the package was they did something different with the lines. When I booked the package I was aware from this website of the different categories but thought that it only pertained to the restaurant you chose as some are more expensive than others and not to the show itself. But maybe it does pertain to the show as well. It is def. something to look into before booking again than.

We did the 12/3 show and ate at a Tier III restaurant. It did not matter what Tier you had, it was a first come first serve basis. There was the standby line on the right side of the stage, and the CP line on the left side. There was a handicapped line on the left side of the stage as well, right next to the CP line. Once we were in, we could choose wherever we wanted to sit. There was only a few rows that we roped off for VIP.

When you are done eating, go and line up with the reserved seating line, meaning the CP package line. Seating is first come , first seated no matter where you have eaten.

That's good to know. We saw about 10 rows about, in front of us. We did see some white stickers in the crowd but didn't know what they were for.
Googled VIP & Disney and read about Club 33, dont' know anything much more than that. We had good seats. We thought it was worth the price.

At least in the past, the different tiers just referred to the pricing of the package - all tiers got into the same exact reserved seating line before the show and had equal chance at any of the seats in the reserved section.
