I was reading on another thread yesterday (I can't even remember which one, otherwise I would reference it) that sometimes Disney cancels ADRs if you cancel the package reservation, or if you change from package to room only. I knew they sometimes cancelled ADRs if they were too close to another. Let's say you tried to book a breakfast one for 10:30 and a lunch one for 11am- that has a good chance of being cancelled by Disney. But, I don't understand any other reason why they would cancel ADRs. Can someone please elaborate? In about 5 hours :woohoo: I am going to be cancelling my room only reservation and switching to a free dining reservation. I already made all my ADRs for my time period, and when I made my reservations I did say I was doing the dining plan (just a small stretch since I AM going to do the dining plan, I just hadn't booked it yet ;) ) I never gave my resort reservation number, but did give my resort location. I did all my reservations by my phone number. Now I am all worried about my ADRs being cancelled. :scared1: I really can't think of why Disney would cancel them, though? It's not like I had them linked to my resort reservation..I did it that way on purpose, since I was planning on switching when/if free dining fell within my dates. I thought the systems were separate- so is this one of those not-so-true Disney rumors? What do you think?

You should be okay. I never had a problem with dining canceling any of my ADR's expect for once they cancel all of them because they saw triple ones so they cancel all of them. Unlucky for me because they were for the three upcoming trips I had planned. When I found out I blew a gasket:mad: I talked to a guest service supervisor & told her flat out I want them back the same places & same time as Disney had no right to cancel them all they had to do was look at the dates. One trip in May, second trip Sept/Oct third trip in Dec. All they had to do was look at the dates or at the most call me. To make it worse I told them at each time I had upcoming trips so they knew about them. She got them back for me with little trouble & said she was sorry but it gets confusing at times which I understand but all that CM had to do was either look at dates or call me.:confused3

With this said with my upcoming three trips this year I point out to dining again I have three trips plan so don't mess with my ADR's LOL.

I don't think that is correct. I have never heard of a connection between adr's and room reservations.

Now, if you call to cancel your reservation, they might ask if you want your ADR's cancelled also but they wouldn't do it without authorization.

I saw this thread also, and heard it on the DIS podcast. I called yesterday to make sure that my ADRs where connected to my phone number, not my resssie (since I would be making a new ressie with the FD package). The CM assured me that the ADRs were not connected in any way to my ressie number. He told me that they ask for a ressie number so you can make ADRs at 180 days (instead of 90 days if you stay offsite (?)). I asked him "ARE YOU SURE!!", and explained what I would be doing today. He chuckled and said I would be just fine, but if I was worried, to call back after my other ressie was cancelled and check on my ADRs. I'll be doing that in a few minutes.....
