So I havent been since December, can anyone tell me what type of changes are made to DCA?
I heard that the ears on Mickeys Screaming Rollercoaster is now down, what else was changed?
thanks!:lovestruc

I *think the San Fran area is new or maybe updated. I don't remember it from earlier trips.

Mickey's face is now on Mickey's Sunwheel, its the retro Mickey but cute IRL. Screamin' now says Paradise Pier and looks pretty cool, although I miss the "old" Screamin' . Here's a pic from 2 weeks ago:

A lot of things are still under construction.

Miceage has lots of pictures, timelines, and updates of all the work. That is the best place to keep updated on what's going on. :thumbsup2

If you mean the California Screamin rollercoaster I rode it twice last Saturday. The Paradise Pier area is boarded up.

They're doing a lot of work for the new Color of Wonder show that'll be in the lake. So, as you can imagine right now there are a lot of construction walls up on the north side of the lake. But the walls aren't too bad and even have some photo ops. :goodvibes Also in the same area there is a wall around the planter where the Christmas tree is during the holidays.

Dinosaur Jack is rumored to have it's last day around Sunday, the 24th. After that the Orange Stinger will close for rehabbing.

Corn Dog Castle will be closed starting June 1st.

HTH. :goodvibes

What has changed at DCA?

Award Weiners was expanded to add more seating to the east.

The bathrooms in San Francisco are closed and scheduled for demolition. The area on the east side is now where the bathrooms are located.

Toy Story Mania was added. They have rethemed the Boardwalk area and will soon re-theme the rest of the shops there on the south side. All the south side restaurants are gone as is McDonalds. Sun Wheel has a new name and was re-themed and the line made ECV accessible. Screamin got re-themed. King Triton's Carousel is being worked on and cleaned up and stuff. Dinosaur Jack is going to be torn down. They are working on the Bay right now and will fill that around Labor Day.

We were there yesterday and King Triton has been re-opened. No changes, just cleaning? I read on DLR website yesterday that the Corn Dog Castle will be closing on June 1st (next to Dino Jack). I've heard conflicting info on Dino Jack's closing-it could be as early as Monday the 25th or as late as June 7th. I'm thinking if the Corn Dog Castle is closing on June 1st, that may be the same for Dino.

Also yesterday Redwood Creek Challenge Trail was closed for maintenance. Reopening tomorrow (Saturday the 23rd.)

Corn Dog Castle is closing????

Does anyone know if this is permanent or temporary? It is our favorite lunch in both parks!

Also, has the Mickey Wheel of Death and Pain re-opened yet?

:-)

Sun Wheel is open but not Pan. Corn Dog Castle will be re-themed but the Dinosaur is history and does not fit the theming and is just another gift shop. They have a major shopping area on the other side and can enlarge the other shop as needed. CornDog Castle is not slated for Demolition but may be rethemed.
