That would've been too easy.
One way to make this work would be to park at DS, use the walkway to SSR, and take the resort bus to the parks. However this could be time consuming to the point where you would likely spend over an hour each way to get from DS to a park. To save the $20 parking fee and lose park time is not money well spent/saved in my book. If you're staying off-site do yourself a favor and budget the parking cost into your trip. You'll enjoy the park time more than the transit time from DS.![]()
It's to stop people from overloading the DS parking facilities by trying to avoid paying the parking fees at the parks. If you think it's annoying because you can't do it, it's a lot more annoying being an on-site guest and not being able to get a bus from DS to the parks because off-site guests try to game the system.
Doesn't matter if you were planning to do it. Enough other people have tried that through the years that Disney had to find ways to stop it.I think there has been a misunderstanding here. We will actually be staying onsite. The plan was to have supper at DS with our teens and then we would hang out at an adult venue at DS enjoying the music and maybe a few drinks while sending the teens onto a park so they could do something they enjoy also.
Totally understand but......bummer.....Doesn't matter if you were planning to do it. Enough other people have tried that through the years that Disney had to find ways to stop it.
If they're going to MK, they can take the bus to CR and walk about 10 minutes to the park entrance, or bus to Poly or GF and take the monorail in.I think there has been a misunderstanding here. For Epcot, they could take the bus to the BC and walk in thru the IG. They could walk from BW to DHS, but it's about a mile.
For AK, there's no way around transferring at a resort.
Great advice. Just want to add another option for DHS is to take the boat from BC or BW to DHS. The path is easy to find if one knows the area but if they are not familiar it might be better to take the boat.If they're going to MK, they can take the bus to CR and walk about 10 minutes to the park entrance, or bus to Poly or GF and take the monorail in.

In some cases, no. If they want to go to Epcot, BC and BW do not offer bus service to Epcot or DHS. You take the boat or walk. Walking to Epcot from BC or BW is faster than the boat. Walking to DHS may or may not be faster depending on how long you have to wait for a boat. I don't know if the monorail resorts (CR, GF, Poly) offer bus service to the MK since in addition to the monorail from all three, GF and Poly also have a boat to/from the MK.Can they just get a bus from DS to a resort near wherever they are going and then wait there for the bus going to whichever park they are interested in?
Yeah, I didn't include that because I figured a group of teens wouldn't be too excited by a slow boat ride, and because there really isn't any time advantage over taking a bus to, say, Pop and then the bus to DHS.Great advice. Agreed, and IMO, it's actually more difficult to find your way from DS to the SSR bus stop than the other direction. One option I would avoid is walking/boating over to SSR and getting a bus from there to a park. Maybe it's just me but DH and I always get lost whenever we go to SSR for dinner or to see the DVC model rooms and then try to find the walkway to DS. It's a huge resort and if you don't know your way around, you can waste a lot of time heading off in the wrong direction and backtracking, especially after dark.

I may check out Our Laughing Place website......they have a Disney transportation wizard that gives you several different options. Just type in where you are leaving from and going to. I have found it to be quite helpful on past trips.
The Our Laughing Place website has long been reported here to be old and to have errors. Just be careful
It also sometimes give options that don't exist.Goodness yes. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It includes crazy things like walking from the All Star Sports to the All Star Music to catch a bus. Who would do that????
