We will be driving to Florida and staying at the Dolphin Dec.20-25. We will have a AAA preferred parking pass as well. Which would be quicker, our own car or disney buses to get to MK, AK and Epcot (daughter would like to be at the rope drop and intends on using touring plans)? Thanks for your advice.

For the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom I would use your own car. For the Disney Studios I would use the boat, and for Epcot just walk! You are a short walk away form the World Showcase section of Epcot.:)

I thought when going to the Magic Kingdom it's faster to use the Disney buses because they will leave you off within walking distance of the gates, where as coming from the TTC you need to take the Express Monorail or boat when going to the Magic Kingdom. Plus during the days the OP will be at WDW there will be a lot more cars trying to park at the TTC, which will mean more traffic on the WDW roads leading up to the Magic Kingdom toll gates.

I always use Disney Transport but since you have a car, drive to Animal Kingdom use the boat or walk to both DHS and Epcot and for MK use the BUS. My sister is a Drive only person and she will not drive to MK if she can help it because as she puts it: "IT takes forever to get out" since you have to take a boat or the Monorail to the TTC and then a tram to the car.

The bus service from the Boardwalk area resorts to MK and AK stinks! The resorts share busses, so the rides to those resorts are very long. During our stay at the Beach Club it took over 40 minutes to get to both parks.:sad2:

Usually I would say use Disney transportation to get to the Magic Kingdom, but not from the Boardwalk resorts. Your own car would be faster.

I agree. We took the bus from BW to MK for MNSSHP last year, it took well over an hour. When we got to the stop, it was jammed. We didn't get on the first bus. The second bus had wheelchairs getting off and on, then we stopped at the Swan & Dolphin, then finally on the road. I timed it one morning via car, we make it in under 30 min, driving to the MK lot, taking the tram and express monorail.
