Morning,

For our upcoming cruise, trying to still figure out how we will get from Disney Resort to Cape Canaveral.
Looking to know roughly what time the Disney buses leaving from Disney resorts arrive at port?
Also, if anyone has done the Disney transport and a car service for comparison, what was your preference and why?

Thanks!

Not sure about the times, but the cost convinced us to rent a car and drive. The price was $35 per person, each way (adult and kids). We were a party of 4 adults and 2 kids, with a total of $420 rt. While we rented and parked because we did the parks afterwards, there are some that do a one way rental and drop off near the port and do the same for the return. We like checking in at the earliest time and have read that the Disney buses are later (but that's just what I read, so can't confirm that). If it was only 2 of us, we might consider Disney transport, but that never seems to happen as our family always tags along.

We did a one-way rental from the Dolphin to PC for $43 for a compact. With 4 of you, you will probably need something larger, but the difference in price between a compact, a mid-size, and a full-size car is usually not that much. We also did a one-way from PC to MCO for around $50.

As noted already, it's $70 r/t, per person if using DCL bus service. And, the buses won't get you to the terminal early. They usually arrive after noontime..earliest.
A car service will run you about $200 r/t. And it will get you to port as early as you want...usually around 10am is when you can start checking in.

I prefer a rental car. It's cheaper, and I get to leave any unneeded stuff in the trunk. I prefer to park right there, in the garage across the street from the ship. Yes, it costs a bit more but the convenience is wonderful. Just get off the ship, put my bags in the car and drive away.
You can rent a car one way though...you can drive to the port, drop everyone, and the bags, off at the ship. Then you can drive to the car rental office, return the car and take the shuttle back to the ship and meet up with your group. Then, reverse that when you get off the ship.
