I have a question about the buses at night. I have a couple of dining plans that are late at night. 9pm at epcot (a day when it closes at 9:30) and the late dinner shows for Hoop Dee Doo(9:30) and Spirit of Aloha (8pm). We also wanted to check out the campfire and movie playing at Fort Wilderness.

Will I be able to get back to my resort after it's over? ??

I'm just worried because it says that buses only run an hour prior and after the parks close.

THanks!

I am assuming you are staying at a WDW resort and you are looking for transportation back to your resort.

EPCOT - No problem buses will be available. If you are really late in leaving you may be on a bus that will go to a couple of resorts.

HDD - There will be buses right outside the theater to take you to your resort. You will definitely be sharing with other resorts.

Spirit of Aloha - If the MK is open take the monorail to MK and switch to your resort bus. If the MK is closed take the DTD bus from POLY and then switch to your resort bus at DTD.

Campfire at FW - This is going to be three buses. Take the internal FW bus to the Outpost and then get on any open park bus and then switch to your resort bus there. If no parks are open then you will have to go DTD to change buses.

There may be other options to the above and that depends on exactly which WDW resort you are staying at.

OK for your dinner at Epcot, not a problem at all. Epcot buses will run till the park is cleared, so if you are at dinner at Epcot past closing, you will get a bus back to the resort.

If Epcot closing is at 9:30, that means Illuminations starts at 9:30 and with the Holiday tag, it is almost 9:55 before Illuminations even ends, then at least 90 minutes after that before the buses quit running.

For the late Hoop De Doo, just proceed to the Settlement bus stop. They provide special shared resort buses after the Hoop De Doo. You will be directed to the correct bus for your resort. You will stop at other resorts first, but will get a ride.

If you are going to the campfire and movie on the same night as your Hoop De Doo, you will need to go to that first, then go over to Hoop De Doo, probably missing the last of the movie. If it is a separate night, then the guaranteed way to get back to your resort is to go to the Outpost Bus Depot, then take a bus to Downtown Disney, then transfer to your resort bus.

For the Poly Luau, when you leave the Poly, take the first park bus that comes along and transfer to your resort bus, or if Magic Kingdom is still open, take the monorail to Magic Kingdom, then transfer to your resort bus. If all is closed, then take the DTD bus, then transfer.

Do you have the dates for the Luau and the Hoop De Doo?? If so, check to see if a Christmas Party or late night hours at the Magic Kingdom are running. If so, then transferring at the Magic Kingdom is the thing to do.

You will find that buses fill up right after Illuminations and then taper off after a bit.

I had my mom one year and opted to take a cab; they were loading them up to standing room and I didn't want my mom to stand all the way back to POR.

I would leisurely eat my dinner and by the time you are ready to do, the massive exodus will have died down.

Buses run at all parks until the park is clear of all day guests.

It does not matter how late you are there. If a park is not clear, there will be Disney buses there and waiting. You may be sharing with other guests, but you will have transportation.
