There was a great article in the Sunday New York Times today about Disney bringing back the short cartoon form (after 50! years), which they'll be showing before Disney features.
I've been reading a lot here about the layoff of animators, etc etc, but this seems like a step in a great direction. Disney sees this as a chance to give young animators opportunites to develop their talents (it also is the first time, apparently, in the history of the company that a lead animator is a woman).
I'm sure someone will include a link (I'm not an on-line subscriber).
Anyway, I'm pretty stoked.
