I followed your past trip reports but kind of got lost this summer for a bit, but I'm back now!! I just love your trip reports, my favorite on the board actually

So I read you are going on the Western Cruise, are you actually going for your anniversary dates?? DH and I are going on the 18th of April sailing, it would be awesome if you were on that one too, but then it wouldn't actually be your anniversary, close enough though!!

I really enjoyed the marathon pictures.
I just figured out that I was in Savannah GA these same days.
The weather was in the high 50's, it looked like you had warmer weather.

Karen - just found your TR and loving it! I have been a faithful follower of all of your TRs and Heather's TRs.

And the funny thing is, I found each of your reports through Jen's Wedding TR! How great it is to "see" her and Jeff again! And congrats to them on the Marathon!!!

The only other Wedding TR I have read was Maggie's...she wasn't at this January meet was she?

Karen, you mention that you have been running lately...are you thinking of doing a Disney race in the future?

I love that you called it mgm...makes me feel not so bad b/c I do it all the time and I will continue to do it! Loved the update! We love tsm...you need to go in the stand by line...all the other stuff is soooo cute! We did both so I'm glad we got that chance. Loving the pics...sorry you got sun burnt...we didn't when we were there. Some days the sun wouldn't stay out long and others we were in and out of it to much. I see you guys did some shopping. I love to shop at disney! Can't wait to hear more!

Oh no I definitely do NOT speak any french! Yes my heritage is cajun french but the only phrase in french that I know is Laissez les bon temps rouler simply because that's my State's "phrase" or whatever...bunch of drunk cajuns! No french for me!

I loved TSM! It was so much fun! I also loved seeing all of the runner's costumes! I thought of Catherine when I saw the girls wearing the Incredibles costumes! lol!!

Thank you!! We had great weather on Saturday and Sunday! Monday was really overcast and windy and chilly but SUnday's weather was perfect!! The guy behind us was with our group! He's one of the girl's fiances.

Hey girl!!! I'm glad you found your way over here! That's too funny how everyone is connected! Maggie was not at the meet. I haven't seen her lately at all but I don't frequent the wedding thread as much as I used to. I AM thinking of doing a disney race next year! I ran a 5K here in my hometown last weekend and have signed up for two more in March and April! I love it! I used to run in high school (cross country) and got out of it. I am hoping to do the 1/2 Marathon in January of 2010!! hopefully....fingers crossed! lol! Thank you!!!

As always Karen, another awesome update!!! Love it!!! I love the TSM area, it looks so neat, hopefully I will get to see it, LOL!!! Not sure when I will be back at Disney, not soon enough, that is for sure. I am loving your trip report and can't wait to read about shopping at DTD, and hoping Heather didn't pass out, yikes!!!!

Sunday, January 11, 2009 Continued....

After riding TSM, Heather and I decided to go to DTD. We wanted to utilize the free time to get some shopping done!!

We realized that there was no bus going directly from Hollywood Studios to DTD which is really stupid, so we walked over to the Boardwalk to catch the bus there.

On our way we saw this! Lots of bottles of water from the race!

Finally I could see it in the daylight! Where so many of my friends were married!!

We got to DTD and I went straight into the 12 Days of Christmas store. I LOVE that place. I bought an ornament and was going to have them personalize it. I was told 15 minutes max. Ok great...all I needed was a date placed on it. Heather was shopping around for a while with me but started to feel lightheaded so she went outside to sit down. I was watching the lady personalize my ornament and she was taking FOREVER! She did a great job but I was in a hurry, espeically with Heather not feeling good. Heather came back inside to tell me that she was going to try to find something to eat and told me how she was feeling worse and worse and the lady kept on taking her precious time. It was making me crazy!!! Heather left and went to find food. I swear she looked like she was about to pass out. Remember, we didn't eat lunch and all we had for that day was nothing but sugar!

Finally my ornament was finished and I met up with Heather by Team Mickey. She had gotten some Nachos and cheese.

I got this because you can't take a DW trip and not get MIckey Ice Cream!

By this time, Crystal and Meghan had arrived! Yay!!!

I was so excited to see them!!

We shopped first in World of Disney, then we set off for Goofy's next. Can you believe I've never made a Rice Crispy Treat there?! I actually didn't know you could until they told me!!

I love this place!!! Hah!!

It was so neat watching them make our rice crispy treats!

For four of us, I believe there were 9 boxes! Lol! Heather and I each got 3!! I had to take Jason something back home!

It was getting late so we all headed back to our hotels. Heather and I wanted to put our stuff down and change for dinner. We had ADR's at Whispering Canyon Cafe. I had never been there before but heard great things about it!

It was dark when we got back to our hotel and I loved how everything was lit up!

So pretty!

The pool area is neat, too!

After we turned the corner, we saw a hot tub and a volleyball court. These two dudes were playing and one was in a speedo! Heather wanted to join them!! I told her to go for it! I wasn't sticking around to see Speedo dude play Volleyball!!!

We made it to the Wilderness Lodge. We met back up with Crystal and Meghan at Magic Kingdom and took a bus to the WL.

I had never been here before but always wanted to see it! I've heard wonderful things about it!

My momma's gonna love this place! I can't wait to stay here in September!!!

We waited for Jen and Jeff (I think I remember the Monorail having difficulties so they were a few mintues late) and then we checked in. Heather told them that we wanted to be seated in the main dining room and have a fun server. We didn't mind waiting a few extra minutes for that. Meghan and I talked Nurse talk the entire time!

YAY for our Marathon runners!!! And I'm glad Jen got to watch her Giants play that afternoon!!

Before too long, the buzzer started talking to Heather and it was time for us to be seated!

We asked for a fun server and that's what we got!

She got to our table, took our drink orders, then threw straws at us! Haha!

I asked her how to say her name (it was Suzanne which is also my mom's name but people say it differently) and she told me her name was "HEAD OF LETTUCE"!!! HAHA!

Heather and Jen ordered drinks!

A few of us split the Skillet! It was SO GOOD!!!! This was of course just the salad/bread portion of it!

A few pony rides were going on while we were there, too! lol!

It didn't take long at all and our food was ready!

This was so good! I'd go back to this restaurant just for this skillet!!!

For anyone who is curious, this is what happens when you ask for ketchup at Whispering Canyon....

Jeff was clueless! Heather had him ask for ketchup (she knew what was going to happen)! So our server made all of us yell, "HEY! WE NEED THE KETCHUP!" Within seconds, this family brought over about 10 bottles of ketchup!!! It was so funny! Poor Jeff! He's SUCH a good sport!

Haha!

During the meal, the wait staff was trying to find people who were celebrating a special occasion. Apparently there were none so Heather yelled out, "HOW ABOUT THE MARATHON RUNNERS?!" So the guy was like OK and he asked all of the Marathon runners to stand up and do the HOKEY POKEY! Haha!!! Poor people were hurting! It was funny watching them try to do the moves but I felt bad for them knowing they were in pain!

Crystal and Jen were good sports though and went along with it!!

Our waitress was so funny! She came back a lot to talk to us..must have meant she liked us! We tried to come up with a Pirate name for Jeff but all she could think of was Cowboy because she said he reminded her of a Cowboy! lol! At one point, Jeff went to the bathroom so all of us got up and hid around the corner. Our waitress was too funny...she went along with us and occupied Jeff until we returned! Haha!

We knew that Magic Kingdom had extra magic hours that night so we figured we had time to run to the Poly and see Jen and Jeff's free upgrade concierge room!!!! They had a castle view and everything!

We walked out of the front of the WL to take a boat to the MK...or so we thought. We ended up getting on the boat that takes you to the Contemporary but that was ok! We didn't mind!

One of the first things I saw when we walked into the Poly!!! I was so excited becuase I would so be there in just a few months!

I figured I'd take a picture in here since I'd never be back!!

We invaded the concierge fruit!!!

After saying goobbye, we boarded a monorail to the MK. It was about midnight and we knew that EMH were until midnight so we figured it was time to get back to our hotel! We even got to ride in the front of the monorail!!!

I've never done that before so I was super excited!!!

We even got a co-pilot license!!

As we stepped off of the monorail, we noticed how quiet and empty the park was. We were all very confused! We heard the guy on the monorail talking to someone on his walkie talkie about four ladies needing an escort to the busses but we had no idea why! This very nice security guard followed us all the way to the busses....which were also DESSERTED! ?!?!?!?!

We quickly realized our mistake! The MK closed at ELEVEN p.m. and NOT midnight! Busses were supposed to STOP running at midnight! We ALMOST missed our ride back to our hotel!!! Yikes!!!! How crazy would that have been?!?! Thankfully, everyone was SOOOO very nice and got us home safely!

Up next: Our last day!! Epcot and then goodbye!!
