Hi,
I've been encouraged by a co-worker to do a scrapbook of my wedding. (She already did one of her wedding which was last year and brought it in for me to look at).
So since then I've kind of been lurking here on the scrap board. You all are super creative and have such wonderful ideas. This is my first attempt at making a "real" scrapbook. I say "real" scrapbook, because I've fooled around with journaling in picture albums and stuuf, but this is my first top loading actual scrapbook I am working with.

Okay, my dilema is this.... (normally I don't think anyone would get stressed out about this, but seeing how "INTO" scrapping you all are, I know YOU girls will understand...lol)

I've started the wedding srapbook. Now, my Wedding was at Disney, so my wedding related events were also held at Disney. (Like the evening before, we had a Wishes cruise for some of our guest..stuff like that)
The wedding events/wedding/and honeymoon were all at Disney and ran a course of a week. It is important that I scrap all of this because this was the first time my husband and I have been to Disney world together, (actually, it was his first trip ever to WDW)
DH liked Disney so much, that he decided that we are going to make going to WDW an annual/biannual thing. I have decided that I wanted to dedicate a whole scrapbook to just WDW trips. I am going to ask my mom for some of our old WDW pictures from when we went when my sister and I were kids, and I will keep adding to it. I guesse here is where my dilema falls....
DO I keep a seperate Scrapbbok for just our wedding, or do I include the wedding pages in our WDW vacation srapbook?

As a wedding gift, my one friends gave ma a CM wedding album/scrapbook. As much as I tried to make this work for me, I just decided that I didn't like it. This is a hinge strap book, and it had certain things writen on each page, so you were kind of obligated to put certain pictures on each page. Since my wedding was not quite traditional, I didn't feel this book worked well for me. So I decided to buy a plain old top loading scrapbook so I could create my own pages. (I feel awful not using it, and I hope she never asks to se it)
Anyone interested in purchasing it from me?

I know that everyone has their own style when they scrap an in the end it is all up to personal preference, but I just wanted to know what you all think about my dilema and other hints on how to "catagorize" your scrapbooks.
Dh and I are going to Texas in Feb...(should I just make a vacation scrapbbok instead of a WDW only Scrapbook?) Uggh, this scrapbook stuff is so confusing!!!!

If I was in this situation, I think I'd create a wedding book & a separate WDW book. The wedding book would have WDW pix in it - those pertaining directly to the wedding, or have you in your Mickey bride/groom hats. That doesn't mean I'd use every single picture though. Just those to create my keepsake of the wedding.

Some pix may work in both books - such as pix of you on a ride with those bride/groom hats. I usually get doubles, so that would work for me. If you have some that you want in both, you could always print extras if you don't have them.

As for vacation vs WDW book? DD & I are currently working on a WDW book. We've only done 2 trips as a family & who knows if we'll ever get back since I'm no longer employed. :( We decided to just do both trips together. So if it was my book, I'd do TX separately.

DD, however, is also going to start a book of just highlights of her life....that will include WDW as well as anything else she thinks of. Since we're both just starting, she may yet decide to start doing a book per year or type of event. I don't see that as a problem. With scrapping, it's all about what you like - that's what I like about it! :teeth:

Beautiful pix in your signature BTW!!!

I agree. I would have a wedding album and a seperate vacation album. I think it would make it much easier to scrap.

I'm seeing at least 3 albums here but I've got like 50 going.
Wedding/honeymoon
WDW (I actually do 1 for each trip but I take a lot of pictures and I scrap nearly everything - it's an annoying quirk that I'm working on)
Vacation (like I said before, if it was me I'd do 1 for each vacation but it's A LOT of work - I wish I could narrow things to a vaction "highlights" album)

Merandab4 - I just commented on your beautiful wedding pictures in the thread called "Please Help"! I definitely think you should do an album of your wedding. It wouldn't even need to be just the part that took place at WDW, it could start with the engagement, and then go to buying the rings, picking out the dress, etc. Then you could put in all the pages about the wedding at WDW (including the Wishes fireworks and any other things that took place while down there). I would also include honeymoon pictures. Since this sounds like it will be a huge book, I would be sure to buy an album that is expandable, so that you can add as many pages as you need. There are some beautiful albums out there with wedding type covers on them.

I agree with Piratesmate, I think you should have a separate album for your WDW trips. I would have it start with any old pictures that you have from vacationing there with your family, then include some from the wedding (the same ones can be in your wedding album too), and then add more for upcoming trips. I would probably do a totally separate album for trips to other places, but that is just me.

It sounds like you have your work cut out for you, but I'm sure you will love every minute of it! As I said in my other post, I would love to see your album when it is done, so please consider uploading pictures of your pages for us to see.

I agree with a seperate album for your wedding events. Have you tried contacting a CM consultant in your area about exchanging the album you received as a gift for other merchandise that you would use? It is a shame to have that just sitting there but I totally understand your preference.

You know with that CM wedding album, you can use the album itself and not the pages that come along with it. You can buy regular plain white pages and put them in the book instead. I happen to like CM albums over any other kind of album. I like the strap hinges and that I can take pages out to work on them side by side, etc.

Just an idea. If you like the album or would feel better using it (since your friend got it for you), you can use plain pages if you don't like the ones that come with the album.

I'm going to chime in and agree with the separate Wedding Album. That way you can start another album about your WDW vacations. Your wedding album might not be as big as your WDW album(s) and there might be some duplicate pictures, but that's OK. Your wedding was an important event and deserves it own album (OK, maybe wedding and honeymoon, LOL)

I have a Disneyland album (heading toward 2) since we live nearby and we've been quite a bit, LOL! I am making a separate WDW/DCL cruise album with our October trip pictures.

Have fun!

Hi there...I recognize your name from the DM'ers board!

This is what I plan to do for our disney wedding...I take LOTS of pics so I am doing TWO albums!
First-A wedding album with all our wedding pics/bridal shower/ect..
Second-A disney vacation album..we were there almost 2 weeks so this is isn't going to fit into my wedding album

I would suggest you do one album for your wedding/disney...two if you have enough pics.

Then you can start another album for your other vacations:) I have done tons of 12 x12 albums already.

Let me know if you have any questions..I have some lo's done already of the vacation portion--going to start the wedding portion soon--I have pics of them on another site!

Definitely a separate album (or more as needed) focusing on the wedding. From there on organize how you feel best. But if you're like most of you're going have more than enough photos to do WDW sep from vacations. Or you may want to just start a chronological album that follows life of your family.

Thank you all for your replies. I guess I will do a seperate album for the wedding and vacations.
I originally wanted to document all things leading up to the wedding, (like my co-worker did) but then when I started doing it, I realized that I didn't have any pictures of dress shopping, picking out rings, nothing like that to document. I do however have lots of picture of the bridal shower.

I've already started the book and so far this is what I have.

Page 1 title page- Our Disney Wedding
Page 2 getting ready
Page 3 Cinderell'as coach picking us up and taking us to the pavilion.
Page 4 Arriving at the wedding pavilion
page 5 The guys
page 6 Ceremony
Page 7 Ceremony

Thats all I have so far, but am going to continue with more of the wedding ceremony , some candid pictures, our reception, and our Post wedding party at the Boardwalk.

I was originally going to continue with our Honeymoon pictures (which would be pictures from the parks and stuff) But these pictures could also double as vacation pictures as well. So I think I will just put the Honeymoon/vacation pictures in my "Vacation" album.

I may end up putting my bridal shower pictures at the end of the wedding album. Do you think this would be okay? I could also include cards and stuff.

Were would are welcome Fireworks cruise fit in? Although it happened Before the wedding, wouls it be okay to scrap it after the wedding. it just seems fitting that the wedding be the first thing in the "Wedding album".

Maybe I could have a section after the wedding called "Other festivities".

Or, should I just put the fireworks cruise in the vacation album with the rest of our wdw trip?

I feel silly asking all these questions. Afterall, it is MY scrapbook and there is no right or wrong way to do it, but I just love listening to all your advise and ideas so please keep them coming.

Also, I would love to exchange that CM album, but unfortunatley I've printed mine and DH's name in it. It could easily be whited out if some on else wanted to use it.

Holly,
Thanks for the compliments on my wedding pictures. I have not yet made the scrapbook, but once I do, I will be sure to post some pictures. The more I see all the Layouts on here, the more I want to change the pages I've already done!

Good luck with having one of your Daughters having a Disney Weding (when the time comes). But remember if that doesn't happen you can alway have your husband give you a vow renewal. They are actually pretty popular in WDW.

Yeah, we have seen several of them while down there on vacations. I would love to do that, but my husband doesn't seem to have a romantic bone in his body anymore, so I just don't see it happening...but that's okay, I still love him anyway!

Just my 2 cents worth...but I'd include all of those things, including the honeymoon WDW pics in the wedding album. Certainly the actual wedding first but then maybe the "other festivities" section and another "our honeymoon" or something like that.

My mom put together two books for us - actually 2 volumes would be a more accurate description - of our wedding festivities and honeymoon. It is great having it all together. While a honeymoon is a vacation it is a special one. And as my kids have grown up they know that is that trip because it is all together. Just my thoughts.

What I personally have done is:

My Wedding/honeymoon album with the wedding, and honeymoon in it. I think I might add all the pictures of preplanning i took too.

I than have an album for each wedding annv. trip but these could be combined into one.

and I have my vacation album which honestly started as an album of just Pop Century.
I have yet to take a vacation outside of WDW but that's just me and I'd probaly do an album of just vacations if I ever get to that point.

AS for your CM wedding album problem did you write on pages or just inside cover? I personally love album but like you hated pages so I just used regular plain pages and traded my wedding special pages in.

Fire,
I wrote on the PAGES in the CM book, which could actually be taken out of the book. The cover itself is in great condition, but I just prefer the top loading pages rather then the CM side hinged pages (or whatever you call them). I figure top loading pages are the easiest to find, so later down the road if I wante to get a Disney scrapbook, I can easily transfer my pages from one book to another. Also, If I wanted to transfer already made pages from one book to another I could do that as well.
