Christmas is coming!!!

I wanted to mention, in case anyone doesn't know of it, DD got this at DTD at Virgin last trip...

its called "The Kingdom Keeper"

From School Library Journal
Grade 5-8–Using cutting-edge technology, five Florida teens have been transformed into Holographic Hosts at Disney World. Their images appear throughout the Magic Kingdom, giving visitors information about the various attractions. It all seems to be going well, until the participants begin having disturbing dreams that start affecting their everyday lives. They sneak in after the park has closed, and Wayne, a retired Imagineer, directs them in their fight against the Dark Side, embodied by Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. Audio-animatronic pirates from The Pirates of the Caribbean travel through the Magic Kingdom in the little cars from the Buzz Lightyear ride. The dolls from It's a Small World clamber into the boats and start biting the occupants. Cinderella's Castle is filled with an eye-popping array of staircases, à la Escher. There's a certain coolness factor for the notion that people could be both human and hologram at the same time, and the illicit thrill of seeing all the things you don't normally get to see (both real and imaginary) makes this a must-read for serious Disney fans.

DD said it is so cool that a fan like her can read it and picture just what they are talking about in the park, when you know it the way we do LOL.

now the 2nd one is out :cool1:

looks like people like the book, anyone else reading them?

Also I need a good WALT the man book. Who can give me one that DD and I will enjoy? DD is into reading success/motivational books. like Donlad Trump! So I want one that talks of Walt the business genius. Thanks!

I read the first one and I loved it! (And, I don't read very often, at all). I'm waiting a year or two for my dd to read it. It's probably a little over her head for now.
I can't wait to read the next one!

I am reading the first one after I am done with the book I am on now. I just love reading and add disney to that and :thumbsup2

I agree - the Kingdom Keepers series is really great! :thumbsup2 As a teacher, the second one is on my Christmas Wish List. I've borrowed the first one from the library again so that I can read it to my 4th grade class. I read it for myself during my maternity leave.

I've read (actually listened to the audio book) the first one, but when I downloaded the second one, there was a problem - it was the first book. So, I'm waiting for audible to fix the problem.

I really liked the first one.

Try:

WALT DISNEY: AN AMERICAN ORIGINAL
Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination

I loved Kingdom Keepers. I have Kingdom Keepers II but am saving it for our trip! Just 4 more days! :cool1:

There is a book, it's kinda hard to find as it is out of print, but if you can find it.....it's called "Waking Walt." And it is about what many of us have dreamed of. Unfreezing Walt and bringing him back to WDW. It's kinda weird, but for diehard Walt fans, it's a fun read. (it's really not for kids)

Missy,
My dd and I are reading a biography about Walt as a child. It's in a series of books called "Childhood of Famous Americans". They have books about many famous Americans as children. We are only on the first chapter, though, so I can't tell you right now how the book is, but I thought it would be interesting to see what Walt was like as a child and as he was growing up.
This books title is actually "Walt Disney: Young Movie Maker".

I found this in the children's section of Barnes and Noble book store.
Hope this helps!

Just got Kingdom Keepers II at Target, it was the last one :thumbsup2 16.00, DD is reading now lol

My husband and I listened to this book on our commute to work. We both got a kick out of it ('specially the Small World part). We're looking forward to "reading" the new one.:thumbsup2

I really enjoyed the first book and I just finished the second and it was just as good.

I think its a great book for adults as well as younger readers.

yay! Just finishing a book now and can start on the first one of KK's :cool1:
