We were just wandering what the Disney boardwalk is. Can anyone stay there? Whats there? And if its not for everyone how do you stay there and whats the cost?

We have seen some lovely pics of it and it looks great.

Thanks for any info :)

Hi Michelle,

Disney's Boadwalk is a DVC resort that comprises of studios/1 & 2 bedroomed apartments.
It is situated close to EPCOT , and also near the Swan & Dolphin hotels.

Anyone can stay there yes, we had a look around last year as we were thinking of buying into DVC, however we bought 'points' off a DISer in the US so we are staying there for the 1st time in August.
Hence better value for money than booking direct with Disney.

There are different types of villa, ie standard or preferred, based upon the view and location etc

There is lots of entertainment on-site, 2 swimming pools , ESPN Sports bar plus motor transport to EPCOT & MGM.

Overall we were impressed hence our booking, I wouldn't personally want to spend more than a few nights there as a private villa is still the best option for us, however with a 3 week visit we thought BWV was worth a try.

To be honest there are lots of people on here who know so much more about the resort than I do, especially as I haven't actually stayed there yet.

(very average) photos I took attached:

The Boardwalk is split in to two the Boardwalk Inn and the Boardwalk Villa's. The Inn you can get rooms just like any other resort and the Villa's belong to the Disney Vacation Club, there are some of these you can reserve or you could rent points off a DVC member to stay there, which might be the cheapest way to go.

You can always ask http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/ for a quote and check on the DVC Rent and Trade Board.

There are some great restaurants here and some shops and in the evening there are entertainers who stroll around (Jugglers, magicians etc :teeth: )

Any other questions ask away this is my home resort ....

The only transport to Epcot and MGM is by the Friendship Boats or you could walk.

I stayed at the BWV last August Michelle and had the most amazing stay. It was absolutely fantastic.

Thankyou for all the info :) Were going to go and have a look around in October. It looks lovely.

Shell, I have just rented points from a DVC member to stay at BWV for 5 nights in Feb 07. The total cost (at $11 per point) for 2 studios is $1210 so about £650, which I thought was pretty reasonable for the 4 of us :thumbsup2

Great news Joh :) You will love it. Do you have a Boardwalk, Preferred or Standard View?

Standard as less points needed. Have you any idea where we might be situated with a standard view? The guy is emailing me today with the reservation number once he has made the booking (so I still have my fingers crossed that he is able to book it at 7 months out).

Ours is standard too, I think it could mean we have views of the front parking lot and the bridge that leads to the entrance etc - to be honest that's fine by us as we will be out a lot of time, Julie will be dragging me away from the ESPN Sports Bar ;)

BWV is our home resort its lovely, walking distance to epcot, boat to MGM and the bus service is available to the rest of the parks. Theres always loads going on along the boardwalk itself.

We bought more points at Saratoga Springs and are meant to be staying there in May but I'm definately tempted to switch to Boardwalk theres so much more to do and see there!

Give it a try I'm sure you will love it! :thumbsup2

We've had standard view a couple of times and you are right Johnny, our view was overlooking the gardens/ entrance way at the front of the resort. I class the front as being the part where the cars arrive as opposed to the back of the resort which overlooks Crescent Lake, the Yacht & Beach etc.
Confusing huh?

Anyway, we very much enjoyed the view from the balcony as it was very quiet, but you could look across to all the cars, buses etc arriving and people watch quite happily.
I'm sure that all those staying at the Boardwalk will have a great time.
