Hi all! Literally just walked in the door from Disney. We stayed at AKL for 7 nights. What is it with that place that makes me so sad to leave?! I go on other trips and I'm never depressed to come home. To cheer up the kids and me I already started to plan and look into my next trip. Im thinking about February, but I have gone the past few years in April and I love that time. Has anyone been in February and think thats a nice time to go? Im a little worried about it being too cold.

Welcome!!! I miss Disney a lot between visits, I am so glad that I found Disboards, I can get a little Disney Fix whenever I need it.

Ya, I've seen these symptoms before. Disney withdrawals. Hmmm. You've been bit by the bug. It's hopeless, a lifetime affliction. Now regarding February...the weather can be 50's - 80's. Crowds vary, many schools have an official February vacation. You may want to check out www.touringplans.com to get a better idea of how busy February may be. Welcome to the disboards by the way! :3dglasses

I, too, as well as the rest of my family, am suffering from the same illness. We got back 3 weeks ago and the symptoms are just now lessening :rotfl2:

But like the others say, that's what planning & these boards are for, right?

We went in Feb last year & we had terrible weather. Probably just a fluke, but we went this year in mid March & it was perfection (hopefully not a fluke!).

Thank you for the link. Im just trying to move my trip up a little so it doesn't seem so far away. My kids love to use the pool at AKL so I wouldn't want them to miss out on that. February would also be my DD's birthday so that will be extra special for her. We had such a great trip this time but the Disney depression afterwards just stinks!

O No Carly! I don't want to be this sad for 3 weeks!
I was wondering about March too because that was also a time im debating. Im just leaning more towards February bc of my daughters birthday. The weather is so great in April. The crowd level this year was larger then last April the same week. I guess it has something to do with Easter being later this year. Even with the larger crowds we didnt wait on line for more then 30 mins.

Hello - We love AKL also and there is just something about the Resort when you leave your heart feels so empty.. IMO

I completely agree with you on this.
I asked my kids if they want to try a different hotel for our next trip, we have 6 kids, and they all said no way!

AKL is on my bucket list of places to stay! Sorry you are experiencing the Disney Blues but planning the next trip is certainly the best medicine!
We went in November last trip. We had a few days where it was pretty warm, a few nights where it got down under 50 degrees. Just bring a sweatshirt or two to layer for the cold nights. We went in the pool each night except the when it was in the 40s. It was a cold run back to the room though!
Have fun with your trip planning!

Planning the next trip always helps us get over the "Disney Blues" - and the people of the Disney Community!!
