I just recently purchased a new 1080p Plasma TV and a Blu-Ray player on Black Friday. I picked up Toy Story 3 as my first Blu-Ray and I was wondering if anyone had any Disney Blu-Rays to suggest? I know Disney puts movies out for only a limited time so what do you know of that is available or upcoming? I've already got the Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 release on my calendar as those are two of my favorites :)

Everytime a NEW movie is released there will be a link for a $10.oo off coupon. And they allow you to email that to a few friends so they can have a coupon too.
I just used one for Disney's A CHRISTMAS CAROL last week. Used it previously on The Princess and the Frog and Beauty and the Beast

There is a coupon for Fantasia Combo pack out now.

So far, the animated and Pixar movies that have come out on Blu-Ray have looked good to me. I haven't really played around with the special features very much.

It's not the easiest site to get quick answers from, but Disney itself has a 'list' of blu-ray movies available:

So far, I have Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, and Fantasia on blu-ray - I think Bambi and Alice are due out next year. I think most of the Pixar movies are out.

Beauty and the beast is the best looking bluray in my opinion.

My favorite Disney blu ray so far is Meet the Robinsons. It is amazing!!!! :goodvibes

I'm sure Toy Story 3 looks amazing on BluRay.

I just joined it, I don't know why I didn't do it before LOL

Sweet, i'll check that out. Gotta get a Christmas list ready :)

I love Beauty and the Beast! I'll definitely be picking that one up!

I still haven't seen that movie, I wanted to see it in theaters for the 3D but never was able to make it before it left theaters. I've heard good things so i'm looking forward to checking it out :)

Amazing would be an understatement LOL Pixar went all out on the detail of TS3 and the BluRay really allows it to shine. I couldn't have asked for more with Toy Story 3 in terms of quality or story :)

I have Bolt and Princess and the Frog on bluray, they both look amazing!

I still haven't seen Princess and the Frog. What did you think of it?

I was actually really surprised that i loved it! it was definitely a throwback to the early 90s movies with the animation and everything. there are some gorgeous scenes and the characters are fabulous. the villain is great and the songs are good, i highly recommend it. i think its on netflix on demand if you have that

Excellent! I'm very glad to hear that. I'll check it out soon :)

If you use a plasma or LCD TV of 60” or less, then a good upscaling DVD player will give you excellent resolution. The difference between Blu-ray and standard DVD upscaling is very slight. It’s kind of like the difference between Coke and Pepsi.

I find this site to be informative:

I have a few Disney movies on Blu, but not sure of re-buying some that I already have on DVD. Having said that though, I did re-buy Beauty and the Beast on sale and the picture is crisp and clean. I also upgraded my fullscreen Cars to Blu, and it was like watching that movie for the very first time all over again! Very impressive.

Is it really worth joining the Disney Blu-Ray club? They seem to delay the release of new movies as far as ones that you can join and get at the same time. You can purchase them, but not get them under the initial deal. I have all the Disney Animated Blu-Rays that have been released so far and I can't really single any of them out. They are all worth it.

I was surprised by the Princess and the Frog. I didn't think I would like it, but it was pretty good - not top 10, but still worth adding to my collection. I can't wait until they release more movies on Blu-ray. I would love to add Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Cinderella, and so many others!

It makes me wonder if Disney Blu-Rays don't sell very well...why release movies only on DVD? I understand doing it for the documentaries like "The Boys", "Waking Sleeping Beauty" and others...but they have to make Disney a lot more money!

I was actually wondering, if anyone could help me out, about all the disney classics and whether or not Disney plans on releasing all of the other ones. I know they are in the middle of some with the Diamond edition (I just bought Beauty and the Beast and plan on getting Bambi, Fantasia combo pack, and Snow White really soon) but I would love to have the entire collection on bluray. so far I know of about 13 that have been released, diamond edition, on bluray, or just regular bluray, or that will be released this year. I'd love to have The three caballeros, the adventures of ichabod and mr. toad, and hercules on bluray, but I dont know if i should wait and get them later, IF they are released, or if I should go ahead and get them now for a good price of 15 bucks. Does anyone know about this?

I think Hercules might make it to BR someday, but doubtful about the others. The only way all of those Disney titles are going to make it to BR is if DVD becomes completely obsolete(like VHS is now), or if they convert them all to 3D(assuming that catches on). If having these titles on hand is important to you, I'd recommend getting the dvds You should shop around though, I'll bet you could do better than $15 each on ebay if you don't mind used copies.:earsboy:
