... such as the one about the Theatre etc. Do you have to pick up tickets for these events or can you just turn up?

It depends on the event. For the theater tour, making of the Magic, art of entertaining, etc., you just show up. For the galley tour and bridge tour, you need tickets. Your navigator will tell you which events are ticketed.
