Disney Begins Pre-Sales for Luxury Residential Development

Doesn't look like competition for DVC, and I don't have 1.5M to spare so no impact here.

Judging by the map, it looks like they're placing the development on the other side of Fort Wilderness (?) or is it between the Fort and WL? ... hmmm.... I know I've seen reports over on the camping board that they're cleaning up the old river country and have survey marks down. Rats. I don't want it that close to VWL.

This phase is starting small, but there's the possibility that if these lots/homes sell well it will grow to large proportions in other phases. I just hope they've done an environmental impact study beyond what marketing has told them they can make off the venture.

If only I could win the lottery I'd be first in line . . .

I don't believe they're between WL and Fort Wilderness. It's in the area of the new Four Seasons resort, I think.

This will probably get moved since it isn't DVC related. But to make it somewhat DVC related, is this in the same location as the once-announced-then-cancelled Eagle Pines DVC resort?

So that would put it on the other side of the fort ... I can live with that  It's hard to tell from their map which just shows the road and lake.

Now we know what we have to buy to get Florida Resident Status from our Disney Purchase!:rotfl:

Hmmm, should have read the full concept first before posting. I feel like an SNL skit... "Nevermind!" ;)

Not to change the point of my thread, but; why is it we don’t get Florida Resident status being DVC members? I have never thought of that. :confused3

You know when your kids ask why you can't live at Disney???? Well now you can. ha

did you check out the Disney Lifestyle tab on the official site? I now have a new goal if I win the lottery.... :)

It looks like these are designed to be vacation homes for the rich and famous... like when "stars" purchase personal homes in favorite vacation spots and they remain empty most of the year. I don't think Disney has in mind that these will be actual "neighborhoods" for daily living.

Okay, so now the possibility of Shaq being in the BLT Grand Villa next to us has significantly declined. ;)

My odds of being next to Shaq's GV were small, unless the SV Studios are right next to the GV's! :rotfl2:

I wonder how they are getting around the rule of no one "living" on Disney property and having voting rights in the Reedy Creek District?

I told my husband to sell the company NOW!

This truly is our dream retirement village!

He asked where we would vacation if we lived there, and I pointed to the map and told him, "We would go south here to AKV and here to BCV"!

If these are purchased as extremely upscale vacation homes, then the owners would not be voting there... they would be voting at the location of their permanent residence. Perhaps the paperwork specifically states that these are intended as vacation homes and not as primary residences...???
