Disney at Thanksgiving 2008!

My hubby, 20 yr. old daughter, and I are going to Disney during Thanksgiving this year. It is my daughter's first time! My hubby and I went 22 years ago, so we are pretty much newbies. We are staying at the Dolphin. I'm not sure what to do about dining, etc. esp. on Thanksgiving. We do not have a dining plan. Do you make reservations for dinner every nite? Where do you eat on Thanksgiving? Any tips are much appreciated!! Thanks!!

I would call ASAP to try to secure a Thanksgiving Day reservation. I'm sure that most places are already booked. You don't have to be on the dining plan to make ADR's. We spent Thanksgiving 2006 at WDW and it was awesome!

We are going TG week as well. Went two years ago and NO ONE was taking walk ups. If you did not have a reservation somewhere you did not get to eat. We had a reservation for Liberty Tree and it was kind of late. When we checked in there was a man that was really mad -- he could not be seated. I asked if it was a constant thing and the reply was--we have turned away more people today than we have on any given week combined.

Good luck--when you call ask what is availiable and go from there. We are at Crystal Palace this year for lunch. I am so ready to be there.

We're going Thanksgiving week for the first time too! We're eating Thanksgiving dinner at Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL). Take a look at the menus in the link above, and pick a few that would work, then call and see what is available. The # to call is 407-WDW-DINE. If none of the restaurants you chose have availability, ask what is available. If the CM on the phone seems to not want to check multiple things, hang up and call back. It's rare to get a not-so-helpful CM, but it does happen.

Hopefully you called for a reservation already! It is crazy for Thanksgiving. I honestly thought.. oh.. no big deal... Oh man, was I wrong. I called four weeks ago and squeezed in a reservation at Crystal Palace at 930 pm!

One note. If you don't get in anywhere. keep calling every day ... you never know what might open up!
