I am considering a Disney Cruise on Christmas Day 2016. It would be on the Magic, leaving on the 23rd I believe. It would be the first Disney cruise for my 6 year old (7 then) and I. I've read about what Disney is like at Christmas, but wondering for anyone who is actually sailed on Christmas Day what you thought of. It's a lot of extra money and just want to make sure it's something extra special for our trip. Anyone on here done this and have thoughts to share? I'm hoping to do a dolphin excursion, but otherwise don't have anything else we really have to do, other than just enjoy the ship.

Have done two cruises over Christmas and they were both great! Special menu and activities. Santa is there with gifts! One of the highlights for me was the staff singing carols in the main atriums. Christmas Day both cruises were sea days so it was very relaxing.

Yay! Great to hear. I had heard that Santa would be giving out gifts, and I think my daughter will be thrilled!

Yes he does! Also Christmas am there is cookies and hot chocolate, special treats. Giant decorated tree. gingerbread display and decorating. There will be a lot of kids onboard.

We actually sailed over Christmas last year and were a little disappointed. We found there were a low fewer activities on board (I am assuming since there were lots of large family groups). The gingerbread house making was a lot of fun (and yummy!), but that was really the best thing and that's on all of the Merrytime Cruises. I love seeing the Christmas decorations and the characters in their Christmas outfits. The lithograph was nice. We got a good price, especially for a Christmas sailing, but overall I was a little let down. I expected CC to be a lot more decorated than it was, especially since we stopped there on Christmas Day.

We also had poor MDR service. But that wasn't Christmas specific.

Good to know. I had seen pictures of Castaway Cay and thought the decorations were a little lame. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised by the ship, though!
