Hello everyone. I'm relatively new here so let me introduce myself first. My name is Carol and I'm a Disney fanatic. My husband has been going to Disney almost every year since he was young and now he has converted me to a big Disney fan. However, after all his trips there he has never seen Disney at Christmas time. Something he has wanted to do since I've known him. This year his wish is coming true. We will be leaving our home on Dec 17th and staying for 5 days. So I wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom about doing Disney at Christmas time. Any tips? Any must sees? I want this trip to be really great for him since he has waited so long for this. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

This will be our first X-mas as well. 18th -22nd

We have the 19th MVMCP and the 18th MGM as it's EMH and Osbourn lights are not to be missed.2 complete nights of Epcot to much to list here CP,saint Nick in every land telling stories.

We are also going to do the monorail resorts 1 evening as they are done up to the hilt.

AKL and WL then BW & DTD . We will hit these after the parks close.

AK also has a X-mas theamed parade as well

We are really concentrating on the resort and park things that can't be seen

Check out this page at AllEarsNet. Some of the information is dated (such as times/costs etc). Some is not. Just confirm anything you read there before you plan anything.

We're going to Disney Nov/Dec ourselves! We're doing MVMCP on Nov. 27th. and are excited to see the Osborne Family Lights and the resorts decorated for Christmas.

Also....change the skin you're using at the DISboards to "Happy Holidays" through User CP. I just did this yesterday. It's cool! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the link!! I'll definately check it out.

Don't mean to sound dumb but what do you mean by change the skin to Happy Holidays...?

Thanks!

We love Disney in December. Our favorites are the Osborne lights and the lights and storytelling at Epcot. We get the performance information for the Christmas stories for each country and try to see at least one or two each trip.

Also, we really enjoy touring the various resorts to see their decorations. The GF has a fabulous gingerbread house in the lobby and WL has a beautiful tree.

But our absolute favorite thing about Christmas time at Disney is the Christmas Wishes fireworks display. It is amazing.

I just thought that I would like the holiday skin since I'm going at Christmas. It just makes coming to the DIS more fun! :santa:

Do the carriage ride that leaves from Wilderness Lodge. They overlay the carriage to make it look like a sleigh.

And try the hayride at Fort Wilderness. The campers put up holiday lights and you can get a nice tour of the area.

All the resorts have nice holiday decorations, and some amazing ones are all edible. I personally like the carousel at Beach Club.

I have only been at Christmas. It is a wonderful time to go. Last year it was packed! But, the only long wait we had was for Soarin in Epcot and Space Mountain.
We really enjoy the Christmas trees and decorations. We especially love going to see Fantasmic and then walk around the Osbourne lights area.
It had changed from the first time we saw it, it is still nice to see.
It's just a wonderful time to go, Christmas is my fave holiday, and going to Disney makes it even more special.

Have a wonderful time and tell Mickey hi for me!

I've been to Disney World three times, and have always wanted to go at Christmas. I hope this trip is everything he has dreamed it to be. Your family deserves to have this to be the memory of a lifetime. Tell everyone at the forum how it went when you get back, and what you saw.

God Bless and Keep You,

Disney at Christmas is my absolute favorite!!! All of the resorts are decorated for Christmas (each has their own tree) and every park is decorated to the hilt. The gingerbread house at GF is definitely amazing and you can spend time trying to find all the hidden Mickey's!!!

The MVMCP is awesome. It's the only time you can walk down Main Street and they are blowing snow on you!! So cool.

Even DTD has beautiful poinsetta's and a great tree!

Having said that, we're trying the MNSSHP this year for the first time but I'm already looking at scheduling a trip down next year in early December!

Wow! Thanks for all the tips! I'm making notes.

Still trying to learn the abbreviations here. What is MNSSHP? Is there somewhere on here that has all the abbreviations listed?

And yes there is a list but I'm not sure of where to find it maybe on the Tech side planning.

Hi everybody!
I'm also going for Christmas!dec 16 until dec 27!I'm really exciting!I have a question..What should we do dec 24 and 25?My mother really want to go to Magic Kingdom, but I think the lines will be really big!I would enjoy tips and advices for what to do these days!
Thanks!

Christmas is my favorite time at Disney. The weather may not be HOT, but it is usually quite comfortable. Bring a jacket for evenings--if you need it, you'll be thankful that you did....if you don't need it, oh well, it was only a little suitcase room.

Christmas at WDW begins at Thanksgiving. THe first 2 weeks of December are nearly deserted, and the decorations and shows are in full swing. Each park has something special--the Candelight Processional(do the dinner for this to get a guaranteed good seat), the Osborn Light show, the Christmas Parade, the Very Merry Christmas Party, etc. THe deluxe resorts have entertainment in the lobbies, and each resort is decorated to the hilt. Entertainment might include singers, instrumentalists, characters, etc. You will get a schedule for your resort when you check in, but each deluxe resort has something each evening. You are welcome to attend these even if not staying at that resort.

Enjoy! Wish I could be there...but not this year.

We will be there 21 -27 Dec. Christmas Day we having breakfast at Olivia's then were thinking waterpark fun at BB. dont think have ever been swimming on Christmas Day. For Christmas Diner we are going to Chief Mickeys then go watch fireworks and parade at MK wth everyone else.

Christmas Eve day we are doing chriistmas around epcot and diner at Cape May.

We'll be there Dec 15-22! It is our kids Christmas gift and they have no idea that we are going. It is also their first time going to Disney! I can not wait! The decorations sound incredible and I am looking forward to Osbourne Lights, seeing the hotels and just the feeling of Christmas at Disney.

Allyson :)
