Hello all. I have read a lot but not posted a lot. I have a question and would love your input. We are traveling to disney with family and will be arriving a day earlier than everyone else in our party. We wanted to make the trip super special for the kids arriving after us so we want to have surprise goody bags and items waiting for them. Here is where I need the help.

It is mostly boys 2-6 they like jake and the neverland pirates, cars, etc.

What items should I put in the goody bags ? How should we decorate their hotel room? What else should we make their arrival and stay once in a lifetime unforgettable?

Check out the Dollar Tree and Party City! Both have great, inexpensive items that are perfect for goodie bags! I would visit Pinterest...there's tons of ideas on there! Good luck!!

For the younger boys I would suggest a Cars car or truck and a small character stuffed animal or figurine. For the older ones, Jake Legos. Something they can put together in the room, but not too big to take home. Kids like little flashlights, too. And they like squirt guns. If there is a DVD player in the room, a Jake DVD would be fun for all.

I've been with boys (we have 4) as well as grandkids. Some smaller toys in the room have always been useful. But, young boys are not as impressed with decorations as adults are. I would keep it simple because it is easy to get sensory overload in that magical place.

We are going to be leaving WDW a few days before some of our family goes for their first ever trip. I'm thinking of doing something for them too, and leaving it at their resort for when they check in. I think I'll subscribe to your thread so I can get ideas too! :thumbsup2

One thing I'm going to do is to make journal sheets for each of the kids for each day. I made them with an area where they could write or draw a picture about each topic (favorite ride that day, favorite thing they ate, characters they saw, something they didn't like, and a blank area for something else they want to mention. I also put the date at the top and a place to put which park(s) they want to. I'm going to print them out for my kids too, and I figure it doesn't cost me that much, so if they don't use them it won't be a big deal.
