Disney AP Upgrade and Free Dining

Hi! I currently have a 9 day park hopper trip with free dining at the end of August and just found out we might be going again in December. If we decide to upgrade to annual passes while on the first trip with free dining, will we lose the free dining during the August trip although we already paid in full? Thanks in advance!

Nope. You won't lose your fd.

as said above, you won't lose your FD. I just wanted to add that you want to make sure you upgrade before you use the last day on the ticket. Your AP date will be the 1st day the ticket was used, just FYI.

I did that last year in August when we got free dining! Then we went for spring break, and now this August we also have free dining (and our AP's are still valid, so we got two day park hoppers that we'll save for next trip).

Are you able to save the park hoppers and use them at a later date? Also, do you receive new bracelets when you get the AP? Or do we keep the ones we have and they add fast passes to it for the next trip while we are offsite? Thanks again!

If you already have an AP, you just buy the minimum requirement of tickets (2 day with hopper or water park) and save them for another trip. I do believe you can customize AP magic bands, but your old magic bands (as long as they are listed as active in MDE) will work as well.
