Hi

Can anyone tell me how much the Annual Passes for Disney are?
I was considering buying them in October at MCO.

Thanks

you can buy them at the airport?
i didn't know that...we always buy ours at the parks (they're not available at the resorts)...
there is a special ticket line (i think it's called guest services) outside the gate of each park....they sell annual passports...
they cost 4 arms and 5 legs for the premium annual passes...
i bought four adults ones in july and the total was over $2,000.....boy...seeing the bottom line that way certainly can be shocking...
but i guess the best things in life aren't free....:D

Beth,

How you getting on without any arms and legs now that you've bought AP's :teeth:

This is probably a silly question. Please forgive my ignorance, but can't you purchase them over the Disney website? I realize that there is a place where you put in your country and it brings up a different page. I saw that annual passes were not available on the page for Great Britain. Could you purchase them under the US page? It said that premium annual passes were $499 for 10 years old and over and $424 for under 10 years old. If you use a credit card, does it matter? Again, I apologize if this is a silly suggestion.

According to Deb Wills' site these are the current prices for APs including tax at 6.5%

AP $403.64 (child $342.93)
PAP $531.44 (child $451.56)

I'm not sure that what you get at MCO isn't a voucher rather than an actual pass. You can also buy actual passes at Guest Relations at Downtown Disney.

I don' think you are aloud to order them over the internet, it stops you when you put in your address. You can order them over the phone, not sure of the number.

bubblefactory --when you say MCO, where do you mean?...the disney store?
what's the advantage?...it's perfectly easy to go to the guest services line and buy them at the theme parks (or at DTD as Pootle pointed out).....

as for buying them in advance of arriving in orlando.....that's WAY too much money to spend before you know for a fact that you're in WDW....there are just too many things that can go wrong for me to shell out $2,200 in advance of my arrival.....

i'm trying to remember where we bought them this year (we buy them every year....as i said earlier, because of our long stay, it works out cheaper)...
oh right...now i remember....we arrived on sunday, the 4th of july this year and stayed at universal studios first (awful place)....
we were at portofino on sunday and monday and checked out at about 4 pm monday afternoon to head on over to the AKL (yippee....going home to disney)......once we'd checked in and all that, where did we go?????....hmmmm talk about senile....i can't remember what we did a month ago...

which park did we go to?????.....ok....it MUST have been the magic kingdom....we always start with the magic kingdom on the day we arrive....so that's where we bought the annual passes....
and now that i think about it, that's pretty much where we always buy them, since we always go to the MK first.....

Claddagh --...very funny.....considering what the rest of the vacation cost, it's surprising i can still breathe at all....
which means, i should probably get back to work and start saving up for next year.....:D

As I've said many times on the Disboards, APs are wonderful thing - you get all sorts of discounts, pins, offers, and the Mickey Monitor online - if you are going to WDW more than once in twelve months you have to buy them!

Ordered mine on line whilst the dollar was good 1.86. They sent green plastic cards to exchange when we get there.
I realise I could have waited but thought it was better to take advantage of the rate

Rain - How did you manage to order yours online? I thought that you could not order them online. It would be great if I could.

I have had them about 6 months. I got them from Walt Disney site. Typed in annual pass.
just checked and the price is 365 dollars plus tax I expect.

Rain -- that must be for the regular annual pass, not the premium annual pass....we bought the premium annual pass which is over $500...
the premium includes disneyquest....
if you don't need disneyquest, then you probably can get by with the regular annual pass....however, i think the regular one also has blackout days, so you have to be careful...
but it doesn't really matter....i think you can always upgrade by adding the difference when you get there....

We're flying into MCO, if the shop is still open when we get there we'll be buying our AP's there. Credit Card takes a hammering within minutes (ok longer) of landing......

Yes it was for the ordinary annual pass. No Blackout days though!

no blackout days?.....
interesting...when i was figuring out which tickets to buy, i thought about buying the regular APs, and then getting seperate DisneyQuest APs (if they still have them...they used to anyway)...
but then i noticed that the regular APs were blacked out exactly when we were planning to arrive at WDW.....so i opted for the premiums.....
maybe they've changed it since we visited...

Regular APs have never had blackout dates. Maybe you have looked at the Florida Residents' pass by mistake - I believe they have seasonal ones which you cannot use at peak times.

right...i just looked it up...
it's Universal that has blackout days on their annual passes....and we were at universal on the 4th of july, one of the days...

the reason we have the premium annual pass for WDW, isn't just disneyquest, also for the waterparks, which are not included in the regular pass...
if you don't do the waterparks or DQ, then certainly the regular pass is the way to go....otherwise, the premium is more worthwhile....

I love my Premium AP - in my last trip I visited Disney Quest twice (though admittedly one time was just for internet access and cheesecake!!), Pleasure Island once and a trip to both Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach....and I've still another trip to take before the pass expires so for me it's worth it :)

By the way, just to confirm the store at the airport sell the actual passes not vouchers and is called 'Earport' - the only advantages I can think of buying them here are no lines and if you need your pass for check-in at the resort on an AP rate.

we've never had a problem with our resort AP rates....
the one time they asked to see the AP, i said i was going to buy them as soon as we went to the park...that was fine with them....

and yes, having the AP is great.....there are also some discounts that are nice....the SEGWAY tour has a 10% discount i think for the AP....and a few other things that i no longer recall...
it pays to read through your pass and see what discounts are available....
