Brilliant news today from Disney: they've confirmed that Soarin' Over California will be built in Epcot following its soar away success in Disney's California Adventure. Due to open 2005.

For those of you who have not yet made in to Disneyland/DCA you're in for a real treat!

Also something is happening in MGM!
When we were on the catastrophe canyon tour, most of the area was boarded off and the houses were gone. They said an announcement will be made this month as to what was going to be built. Can't wait to hear what 's going to be there:D

It's going to be a copy of the Moteurs: Action! stunt show from Disneyland Paris. Also announced was the re-vamp of Alien Encounter in the Magic Kingdom to be a new Stitch's Great Escape attraction

It's the equivalent to the Indiana Jones stunt show in Disney/MGM Studios in Orlando, except that it it based on car stunts. It's 'story' is an explanation of how car stunts are filmed for the movies. There are several set piece scenes in which cars and motorbikes (and at one point jet skis) do the most amazing co-ordinated high speed driving, missing each other by just a matter if inches. The whole thing takes place on a stage set much the same size as the Indiana Jones stunt show, with an equally large seating area for the audience.

Like the Indy stunt show there is a little bit of audience participation, and also like the Indy show there is a bit of chat and explanation from the performers between the set piece actgion scenes. Unlike the Indy show, Moteurs: Action! has a sense of real danger and really has you gripped to the edge of your seats. It's the only Disney show that I've seen that the audience has consistently given it a standing ovation at the end.

It will make a great addition to the Disney/MGM Studios, although it will make the Indy show look very tame in comparision. I've seen rumours that after the new car stunt show opens Disney will close Indy and replace it with something else. No idea how true this is, but it does make sense to me.
