I'm heading out to the mall for a fun filled day of shopping!
Tonight DH and I are going to Monteray Bay for some yummy crabcakes.
DS is in Boston (work) DD is in Philly (School) and DS is in France, so I have no kids here. It'll be a quiet birthday.

Sandi - they DO have the best crabcakes, and the place is so beautiful inside. My BIL works p/t with the valet service there - watch your car!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lunches made. Kids left for school. But I still haven't had breakfast.

DS had a sore throat but went to school anyway. If he is absent today, he can't participate in the band activities this weekend. I hope I don't get a call from the nurse.

I used to say never too....NOW I try to sneak vegetables into food when ever I can......having grown up in a meat and potatos kind of home, veggies never made it to the top of my list...so I've had to be a BIT sneaky in tricking myself into eating them!

Sandi, happy birthday. I hope it is everything you wish for and more.

YUM!!!!!!!!!!! Crabcakes............I bought some from Price Club (Costco) a couple of weeks ago. they were no veggie type, Carol, and really good. I may have to get some more this weekend, it's next to impossible to get good (actually any) seafood out here. We do have shrimp that are farm raised in the desert, of all things, but nothing else.

I can't believe we haven't been evicted, perhaps somone paid the rent through the end of the month and forgot to tell us?

No school for the kids today. DH will be volunteering at a science day exhibit at the Carnegie Science Center today, so he is taking DS with him. Let me tell you, DD was NOT happy at her daddy last night when she found that out! Shades of the tempermental teenage years to come? Yikes! I guess I'll have to make it up to her with some mother/daughter time. I forsee a McDonald's lunch in my future....

I stubbed my little toe this morning and broke the toenail. I looked like this. It's still messed up. To be honest I've been too afraid to try to do surgery on it yet.
