Hello,

i am going to orlando for the first time this june. i was wondering which is the best place to buy disney and universal tickets. i have seen couple of sites where they are offering a 3 night 4 day package for 99 dollars. but they are asking to be present for some sale presentation .

i wanted to know if anybody buys tickets thru these vendors where you just have to go for some sales presentation and how authentic are they?

please help as i am clueless...

I can' advise you on the Disney tickets as I have an AP but as far as Universal goes, go to the official website for Orlando and look at the various specials they have... none of these are available at the gate so you need to purchase before you get there... well worth the money and picking up your tickets from the kiosk is painless.

there are so many ticket options available for Disney these days...you can buy from them direct or go to allearsnet.com for other great ticket sellers..

hope this is of some help! have a wonderful time!

You want to avoid the sites that require you to sit through a presentation. Don't do it!! For Universal tickets check out their website (universalorlando.com). They are offering kids free and 3 additional days for free. For Disney (I believe they also sell Universal) check out mapleleaftickets.com. Of if you have a Disney store in your area, you can purchase the tickets there. The difference between the website and the store is somewhere around $1/ticket and for piece of mind you may want to pay the extra buck to purchase them from a store. If you belong to AAA you may also want to check out your local office. If you are looking to stay on-site then your best bet is the Disney website or a travel agent. Hope this helps.

thank you, yes i am definately looking at buying tickets before hand.. that ways you have a piece of mind. thanks for the heads up :thumbsup2

You might also want to check out www.ticketmania.com Very helpful folks over there. Are you staying offsite or onsite? If you're going to be onsite you can just put your tickets on your room key, if you're not, it's probably better to go ahead and order them. Have a great trip!

i and my husband are still deciding whether we want to stay onsite or offsite. onsite .. what is the cheapest i can get , and from where can i know the onsite locations apart from wdw website to see if prices are any cheaper elsewhere.. thank you guys for helping me in my trip .. i truly appreciate it

Disney pretty much dictates how low their rooms can be marketed for. The only place that you can get an onsite room cheaper than what Disney themselves is marketing them for would be thru AAA. AAA discounts range from 10%-20% off of the rack rate, depending on the resort and season.

There are also discounts for AP (annual pass) holders and FL Residents.

You can save on your Disney room by choosing to vacation during "value season". Value seasons are traditionally slow periods for Disney and they reduce the room rates during those times. You can learn about the dates and rates for the "seasons" here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/resorts/Rack-Rates-2006.htm

thanks so much for the link, i have already planned my trip for 1 st of july for 4 days to orlando.. so the cheapest i could find thru the link is 111 per day. are there any other perks attached with the rates. or just the hotel room...

do they give any complementary tickets?

Unfortunately, no, they don't give free tickets. July is considered "peak" season, especially so close to the 4th, so there won't be many deals available anywhere as far as onsite goes. Also, the parks will be very crowded, so I would definately go for onsite to save time and also guarantee entry to the parks. If you're offsite, they can close due to capacity and you won't be able to get in. If you're an onsite guest, you will. This however, does not apply to the water parks. If they're closed to capacity, it doesn't matter where you're staying.
