Disney and Universal Studios, Orlando

We are considering extending our honeymoon 2 days to go to Universal Studios. But we'll have to switch hotels. How close is Universal from Disney? Does doing this sound reasonable. How many days should we spend at Universal?

hi there, we did the same thing on honeymoon, except we never moved hotels, we visited Universal and Sea World while we stayed a disney.

If you have a car it's about a 20-30 minute drive i think, we used taxis and that worked really well

Depending on the time of year a day at each park should be fine

I recommend switching to one of the Universal hotels to get the front-of-the-line feature and to just make life easier. The Loew's hotels are lovely too. Check them out at http://www.loewshotels.com

Universal is not very far from WDW and it is real easy to find. There are signs everywhere that take you right to it.
But it would be nice to get the front of the line tickets. Moving hotels isn't too much of a hassle, it just takes a little time.

You should stay onsite at Universal!! They have 3 really nice resorts and as a resort guest you get FOTL access. Just show your room key and you walk up the express line (like the fastpass line). They have many great restaurants at City Walk. I would stay atleast 2 days there so you can have 1 day for each park.

I always make a point to visit USF/IoA. Driving time is about 15-20 minutes, my experience. Never have stayed at a USF resort, but hear they are great and FOTL should be super. I have an AP and usually do one day, but to really take it all in, one day at each would certainly be better. They are great parks.

The Front of the Line perk you get by staying onsite is fantastic. With that you could do both parks with a one night stay. BUT, if you really want to take in the parks, I would recommend 2 nights.
