I currently have a reservation for late August that I am going to move to late September and we've decided to also go to Universal while we are there. We will be staying onsite at Disney (WL) and Universal (Hard Rock). We'll be flying down either late Fri or early Sat from MD and staying through the following Sun. Trying to decide whether we should do Universal first which means we get our bags and grab a taxi and then take the MDE back to airport and no worries about checking bags on the way home or Disney first and then Universal. Last time we did both we hit Disney 1st since it was only 1 night and we were doing the MNSSHP and then went out to Universal for 3 nights and took a taxi to the airport. Thoughts???

Which one are you staying at longer or are you staying at each equally. I would start at the location of the shortest stay, then finish where you can relax and not worry about moving. For example: If you are doing 2 days at US and 6 at Disney, I would do US first. Or vice Versa.

Thanks, we'll definitely be at WDW longer than US. We went the same time of year the last time we did both and the lines were super manageable at US especially with the front line perk of staying onsite. So we'll be there 3 days and the rest of the time at WDW. DS7 wasn't tall enough for HP and some of the rides and he is a roller coaster FANATIC so he is excited to get on the ones he couldn't before. Hopefully that means I won't have to MIB 10 times in a row again :)

We always do Universal first, since it is a shorter stay. We like being able to move to our Disney resort and unpack and really feel like we are on vacation. The only negative to this is that we are always spoiled at Universal with their FOTL perk - it is hard to go from unlimited fast pass at Universal to only 3 at Disney and then actually waiting in lines :(

If you have many pieces of luggage, I'd do Disney last and take MDE. The airline checkin at Disney is pretty much a lifesaver for us. Plus MDE forces us to get to the airport at a decent time. We'd end up late if we had to take a taxi and time it ourselves.
