We have just decided with friends to possibly visit Florida Oct 06 (well in advance I know, but thats the soonest we can go). My family have visited Feb 03 and stayed La Quinta Inn. Our friends have never been. Kids will be 14, 12, 9 and 8 when we visit. Because we have never stayed at a Disney resort we thought this would be a good opportunity but budget will be restricted to All Stars prices. Would appreciate any info from previous visitors to this resort, anything goes from trivial to important.

And a trivial question from me, can you choose which All-stars you stay at ie movies, sport or music if you book with Virgin

I thought we might be there at the same time, then I noticed that you'll be there in '06. Well, maybe we'll try to be there in 05 *and* 06 :earsboy:

In addition to posting here, you might want to pick up one of the Disney guide books or look on-line at places like http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_as.htm. (just noticed that this is not your first trip, so this may be nothing new to you).

Also (not to cause you to re-think your decision) -- you may consider the DoubleTree Guest Suites over at Downtown Disney. This would allow you to stay on Disney property and sleep 6 in one suite. The transportation is not as convenient (and it's not a "Disney" resort), but it sounds like you'll need 2 rooms at All-Stars. Then again, we could have gone with 2 suites instead of 3 rooms, but we have opted to stay at All-Stars because we have a couple of sports nuts with us. Enjoy the planning!

Yes you can pick which resort you would like to stay at. Movies, Music, and Sports are 3 independent resorts all on the same property.

The kids should love the All Stars. The theming is neat for the kids, the rooms are basic but work just fine.

I think the bus service at the value resorts is the best on property. I never seem to wait as long for a bus to the values as I do for the Boardwalk.

The food courts work well too. Make sure you plan on buying the refillable mugs! Worth it with 4 kids along. And for the adults too. My parents have theirs every trip. (Mom likes to put half coffee and half hot chocolate in hers in the morning.

My parents are retired and usually spend a week at the values in the winter. They always ask for the preferred rooms which put you in the buildings closest to the pools and food courts and buses. Some of the rooms are quite a ways back from the main building. It does cost an extra $10 per night, but for them it is worth it.

Which one depends upon which theming you prefer. Movies tends to have the least availability and is heavily requested. You are picking a great time of year to go. Have fun planning!

Hi!

I did stay at the all star movie resort 4 years ago and as funny as it is, they have as great a service as the more expensive hotels on the resort...even the bus frequency is better. I stayed at the animal kingdom lodge last year and the bus wait were soooo long. Also if you really want to save up and be on the disney ground I suggest that you look into the fort wilderness campground. They take camping to a new level and the activities are numerous. It's also very cool for transportation because a boat ride takes you to magic kingdom.

If you still choose the all stars...make sure you get the drink mugs...they really are worth it. And wake up early.....lots of people stay in these hotels. If you wanna avoid the lines for food get a small fridge..they charge you like 10$ per day but you'll save lots and you won't have to do the long lines to eat.

I have stayed at all 3 All Stars and Movies is my favorite. I noticed that kids alone there are 4 so you will need 2 rooms.

I've stayed at ASMu and Pop and I liked both. Pop is newer and has it's own bus service. There are lots of posts on all of these resorts, good and bad experiences as you'd get anywhere. Do a search and you can read some of the threads, then make your decision. Good luck! princess:

We stayed at ASMu in October 2003 and it was a lot of fun. Colorful theming and good bus service. This year we are opting to stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort because of the larger rooms and coffee makers, along with a more "calm" theme. If I were going to go value again I would probably stay at Pop because it's new and has it's own busses!

I'm looking into to staying there as soon as school up north gets out. The week before July 4th, is it true that it is too hectic and crazy this time of year when you stay at the value resorts. Please all info is welcomed. :confused3
